Old folks on the course today......

It's south Florida here. You know, god's waiting room, for some.

 

Were stuck behind an elderly foursome this morning.

Pace wasn't that bad. 4.25 hr round. I'm used to under 3 hrs.

 

About the 10th, one of the gentlemen started to wander off on his own. Walked down the cart path, looking at the ducks in the pond. His companions had to go get him back in the cart.

He hit pretty good for his age, late 80's, early 90's.

By the 16th, I thought maybe he had narcolepsy, he would stand over the ball motionless for 30+ seconds each stroke (don't think that!).

 

Finally the 18th....

They are on the green finishing up. Putt out and the older gent has the flag. They walk off the green, him holding the flag. He puts it in his bag and they drive to the clubhouse!

 

My group is pissing our pants in hysterics. An attendant comes flying back with the flag. Runs to the green and gives us the high sign.

 

Starting to see more and more of this stuff down here!

Wifey says the home is awaiting me, haha!

From what you said they played faster than the 3 groups of drunks we had in front of us today. We had some bachelor party in front of us today and the round took 5 hours. Actually we got a bunch of laughs. That whole bunch was cooked and the wedding was tonight.

Absolutely no issue! We were all moving along, but it just kept getting weirder as the round progressed.

I am one of those old folks. They other day I played alone on an empty course...walking. It took me two hours and five minutes, and I wasn't rushing. I hit the ball, I find it, I hit it again.

Some older players are good too. We have a 79 year old that plays with us each Sunday. Today he shot 74 from the white tees (approx 6k, 131 slope).

I am in the boynton area and i know this sounds crazy but we are spoiled through summer here.... I know its hot as hell but 3hr rounds are common and ALOT of prvt club is on as well. I played Abacoa on Friday and sounded like a cry baby on holes 11-18 because we had to wait a little bit. Needless to say it was a 4.25 hr round!
