I may have missed it... Do we know what the technology is in this driver? They got rid of the speed slot so more than likely have put some type of "jailbreak" type of technology in there I'm sure.

Anyone know?

Idahoan mashed potatoes in the head to improve feel, sound, and distance, no need for hotmelt.

TS2 has buttery homestyle, TS3, loaded baked.

Hey Titleist, if you're out there, are you going to give us any info on these drivers or are you just going to let us continue to make assumptions?

The week following the tour launch of a staple product should have been a full-court press on marketing publications. Crossfield (especially so being that he is "on staff" now) and Shiels should have been scheduled to release their reviews immediately following an official statement and we should be seeing some data by now. The buzz from last week has now stagnated and you're losing the markets attention.

Honestly though, what else should we expect... Titleist has never been a leader in the marketing department. Need to catch up with the times guys!

They have a marketing agenda. They have us hooked with the pictures and some comments from tour players. I'm sure they have an exact date in which they will release the details on the club.

For the 917 line they didn't put out a press release until September. I would give it another week or two before they put anything out.

Assuming there’s TS Fairways due as well then maybe they do a press release after that or maybe at Carnoustie??

I'm curious as to how they will explain the step backwards or shift in "technology" as well as this product cycle having both heads drastically different. The D2 and D3 were always minor differences and same weights.

My guess is two price points. Think M3 vs. M4.

On TeamTitleist today they showed that some TT members were invited to see and test the TS2 and TS3. Trying to get some answers out the guys that went like any difference between the 2 and what shafts they had in them (assuming they would be the stock shafts).

If you watched that Tournament and think that driver played a huge roll in who played well and who didn't you are dead wrong. It was all about the approach shot and where you left the ball on those greens.

I'm well aware of the importance of approaches (and putting) at the tournament. Just providing the stats, you can tweek them as you'd like.

oh come on, you aren't just "providing stats" and no one else is "tweeking" (or tweaking) them. You were trying to make a snide, but completely illogical inference.

Now, since you enjoy assembling stats for those interested in the T2/3, you could do something like the following:

Compare fairways hit and driving distance for those using the T2/T3, vs. their season-long averages. But, to control for the course and conditions (somewhat), you'll need to do the same for the rest of the field, and then see if the deviation (for the US Open) vs. season averages was better or worse for the players that switched to the T2/3. Oh, and be sure to verify that the players hit driver on any holes you include in your calculations. TIA.

Or, you could just man up and own your previous post (and comment) for what it was, which may be noteworthy for some other purpose, but was useless and likely misleading as it relates to the T2/T3--which is the subject of this thread.

Changed the alignment aid

Thank goodness. The point of the triangle alignment pointing away from the target literally kept me away from previous versions. Glad they went back to having it ‘narrow the focus’ for alignment.

They don't have! Quality sells itself, just like Mizuno. Look at Taylor Made. They're DYING in club sales, can barely give balls away! Why else would Adidas dump them for whatever they could get.......Callaway Baby.......Top DOGS!............

I thought I heard that Titleist was one of (if not the most used hybrid on tour). I understand that doesn't translate into sales, but the AP2 must be a great seller, I see lots of them in bags.

But balls sale must be drying up a bit with companies like Snell producing a 2 killer models like the MTB Black and Red for cheap, and lostgolfballs.com and the like selling basically brand new balls for half price.

Can’t wait to try this one. As a Titleist Staffer I did not switch to the current head as it had a significant ball speed loss to the previous model.
