Regardless, the joke is outdated... Time for some new material MTM

I'd like to apologize to anyone I may have offended.

Don't... when Manufacturers actually stop popping out new clubs every 9 months like rabbits in the Spring... and not have 10 different drivers on their website... then it will be finished.

It's borderline ridiculous... and screws the guy who can't afford the new "better " club every year.

Every two years should be the MAX!!!

Yeah. This was sarcasm too.

I better work on my delivery!

I still stand by what I said about TM. They have released 12 different drivers since 2016. I don't care. But it is part of why I don't play their clubs although I don't disparage anyone who does. It's a free country, baby. Live and let live.

When my kid was getting autographs at the US Open Monday practice rounds I asked Adam Scott and Rafa Cabrera Bello - TS3 or TS2? They both said TS3. I was surprised they actually responded to me. I saw the Beef hit a drive, looked like he had a TS2.

Don't flame me, just reporting what I asked and observed. Sorry if late to the party.

If you read through any thread on a new driver release from any major OEM you would think 4 drivers per release would be the minimum required to satisfy the majority of golfers. For example, there have been no shortage of people posting in the forums leading up to and since the TS2/3 release about the need/lack of a smaller/low spin head in the vein of the 915 D4. The most requested/popular seem to be:

1. Max Adjustability Head

2. Smaller/Low Spin Head

3. More Forgiving "Simple/Straight Forward" head

4. Max Forgiveness/Draw Biased Head

Each of these heads types are targeted to a specific golfer or type of delivery to the ball. I can't see how this is bad for the OEMs or for the consumer. Purchase the one that fits your game/wallet.

The "need" for a 1 year vs. 2 year release cycle is a different story,

Michael Breed had a Titliest company homer on his show today. Says the release date is not set in stone but they are looking at September this year.

Heard the same thing from a different source. Won't know for sure until their July sales meeting, but October 1st seems to be the latest date they are considering with September being more than likely. It could end up like the past 718 release where people were quoted October but actually received their products in September.

I'm stupid and most likely wrong, but my guess is the reps get their carstock as soon as they get back from the sales meeting, demos follow shortly thereafter. Fittings for pre-sale start to take place late august to early September with product shipments starting mid September. They hit the big box shelves the first week of October.

I think that makes sense as the Titleist UK website doesn’t have Full fitting dates or Titleist Thursday dates past Mid July

I mean, it seems like they're getting a pretty high adoption rate. Titleist seems to have more guys hang on to legacy models than other OEMs, which makes me believe they don't really shove stuff down guys throats. Maybe it's legitimately a superior product to what they've offered before. I'll check it out next summer. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

what does "no shortage of people" equate into? the most popular requests you list, are they not available elsewhere? so I am not sure why Titleist would have to follow any other business model. Unless your research could show what a change like that would mean in terms of increased market share and overall sales. Although I am sure Titleist would have liked to have seen your post sometime early in 2017 maybe?

No apology needed, my friend. Just some online back and forth. No offense meant, hope none taken. You seem like a good guy. I've just been incredulous how so many golfers still take shots at Taylormade when other companies (Callaway especially) have become as bad as TM was with multiple releases. But that's my problem, and I'm sorry I went off the rails a bit in a thread about Titleist's new drivers.

Has anybody listen to the "2Guys Talking Golf" episode on these TS2/3 heads?

They were saying that they "thought" the TS2 was the taller face head and the lower spinning head, and the TS3 with the Surefit CG had the longer back to front profile, shorter face and was possibly the more "player friendly" due to the Surefit CG for a 8-12 handicap might need the extra adjustability to help fix maybe any possible swing flaws. Does anyone else feel the same way?

My personal thought was the TS2/3 was more like the Rogue/Rouge Sub Zero line. Where the Sub Zero and TS3 were more adjustable head, lower spinning (also TS3 was probably smaller, and around 440-450cc), and TS2 and Rogue were less adjustable and maybe more player friendly, and 460cc. Now this is just an absolute guess and I'm only going off the couple of pics and past 91_ series where the D2 was larger and friendlier, D3 was smaller, less spin, more workable.

What's your guys thought. Obviously its all speculation at this point.

From all the pictures released so far it’s pretty obvious that the TS2 has the elongated head. Unless Titleist is trying to pull a fast one. Side to side the TS3 is taller but shorter front to back which is the same as the D3. Like you said, we shall see

They misspoke...the TS3 is the smaller head, the TS2 the larger "more forgiving" head. As in...D3/D2

Michael Breed had a Titleist club rep on the radio this morning and he said that both heads will be 460cc this release because that was what the players were wanting.

If true that is a little disappointing. The TS3 doesn't look 460 based off the photos and shape but that can easily be misleading.

Very interested to see what OTR shaft offerings these will be released with, I believe I read somewhere the Tensei line will play a large part.
If it is the real deal Atmos, or Diamana WF/BF/RF I’d be really happy.

There's not a real deal Atmos, since it's Fujikura's mid priced offering sitting in between the upper end Speeder Evos and the low end Pro

If a Titleist staffer wins this week with one of these, next week will be pure entertainment on this forum

Blasphemy. No one can win with a Titleist driver. I thought everyone knew that.

I love the look, sound, and feel of Titleist drivers but I always felt their newest releases were always a 1/2 step behind the newest stuff coming out from the OEM’s that focus most of their R&D on metal woods.

Just like Apple products.

Is Spieth playing a TS or is he sticking to 915? Titleist must want him to play the newer stuff (eventually)
