I'm actually pretty sad at the stock options for shafts (at least off the rack). Definitely make sure to check out all the other shafts available at no upcharge.

I had the opposite opinion, I think both the Smoke and Evenflow shafts are some of best stock shafts that have been offered by any manufacturer in a long time

Agreed. I actually ended up with a 9.5 TS3 with the Fuji Pro 74 TS in X (and 16.5 TS3 fairway in Fuji Pro 84 TS in X.) I was shocked when the fitter had me try it. Finally got to play with it today. WOW! Long and STRAIGHT. Missed 2 fairways all day by a total of 5 yards combined. Used the fairway off the tee once (hit 2 balls to be sure the first wasn't an anomaly) and both were 250-255 right in the middle.

wait, there are more shafts available at no upcharge ?! besides the 4 shafts (kurokage, hzdrus, evenflow and tensei).

All the old ones like Diamana plus, all those Aldilas, Fuji Evo tour spec etc.

They didn't have any of the upcharge ones in the cart

Go to the titleist website and look up their custom option catalog. It'll tell you all the shafts they have available upcharge/no upcharge for every club they have.

Not a fan of the smoke after several rounds, ended up going with a 60 gram Mitsubishi Diamana DF in Xflex topped 1 inch. It's a straight bomber. Definitely feels better than the smoke.

The smoke 6.0 shaft is a great shaft for me and tried 2 others that I had previously had success with but the Smoke won out. Tried Ahina 72 and Kyoshi Purple 04 65 also.

The Smoke is very good I too have tried a handful of shafts and the Smoke stands up. I would love to spend more time with this driver but sadly the cold is setting in here in Northeastern Ohio and the backups are waiting there turn.

No this was from my old titleist driver, I brought 2 of my own personal shafts to compare.

i did the same i took a Fuji evo 2, Diamana B series, and a Fubuki V. I was surprised that I liked the Tensei better than the two Mitsubishis I brought, but the big surprise was I hit a heavier shaft and head better.

I gave the TS2 fairway and driver a shot this weekend at Indian Palms Country Club this weekend with Evenflow X shafts. I tell ya what, these are absolute sleep clubs. Feel is great and response is great. The shaft is an ultimate compliment to a solid club. I've never owned Titleist anything outside of a few ProV1s and my beloved Newport 2 that I saved from an abusive owner on Ebay and refurbed back to life.

Guys, give this thing a swing. But, get fitted and don't assume the one on the rack is for you.

Good Job Titleist.

Agreed, Smoke is ok shaft but White EvenFlow shaft is what won me over. I consider that shaft as a very good "stock" shaft.

Yes, I think these are the best stock shafts ever. Excellent for the general public, but a contingent of the WRX crowd has gotten into the world of premium shafts, and these won't satisfy them.

I was able to play around with some of the SureFit weights in the TS2 this weekend. I was spec'd into a +2g from the Titleist Thursdays fitting event and decided to test out the +4g the pro shop had on loan. Wow did it feel good - helped offset some swingweight changes since I ended up putting a Jumbo Tour Velvet on my driver (I'm not a swingweight expert so if my logic is wrong I'm happy to be corrected). Felt like I could feel the head just a bit more, especially at the top of my backswing. I ended up ordering both the +4g and +6g through the pro shop - should be interesting to see how these work out.

How much did they charge you for the weights?

The EF White was great on the indoor sim but a little squirrely out on the course. I just got a EVO II that has been more consistent for me at the range and looking forward to the results out on the course.

Curious how much they charged for the ts2 weight as well

How is the different weights suppose to effect ball flight?

I think it really depends. An additional 2g of weight isn't really going to affect your ball flight but if you make the swing weight heavier/lighter by like 4 points it can affect the way your shaft kicks and hence change the ball flight.

The 917 weights are compatible with the TS3. I ordered a knock-off on ebay for like $12. Works great and actually fits a little tighter in my opinion. Don't waste money on a weight just b/c Titleist wants to gouge people.

I have the TS3 with the Hzrdus Smoke 6.0 shaft. For me, it is a fantastic shaft. It plays like a more forgiving Hzrdus Black, just as advertised. This combo is probably the best driver I have ever hit. Played 18 holes today and had four drivers over 290 yards, with one topping out at 318 yards, according to my Golfshot Plus app. Take it with a grain of salt, because I play in the thin air of Salt Lake City, but still, it was only about 50 degrees outside. Those are fantastic distances for this 58 year old. I also hit 10 of 13 fairways today with this driver in my hand. I am really stoked and a bit sad that the season is coming to an end right when I find the ultimate weapon for my game.
