Just hotmelt the head and you can alter the sound and feel dramatically. It makes almost any head tolerable.

My Cobra KING LTD Pro that I just got rid of. I sold it and bought an M3. I loved the sound of that Cobra, but the M3 launched higher than the Cobra and gave me some more ballspeed. I want to add hotmelt to the M3, but I'm not going to void the warranty in case it cracks. I decided to buy an extra 8g weight for the head to get it in the 206g range that I like instead.

Nike Sasquatch Sumo2. Always thought it made a noise similar to how i imagine a coconut falling out of a tree and connecting with a skull would make.

I've only played with 4 Drivers in my life:

 

My first one was a K-Mart special $30 driver. It sucked.

 

My 2nd one was an OG Callaway Big Bertha. Pure joy from what I remember, it's been over 20 years.I wish they'd remake some "retro drivers" and this would be the first one I'd recommend.

 

My 3rd one was the King Cobra 427. Horrible high pitch "Ting" to it. If I caught it just right it would make my ear ring.

 

My latest one is my Wilson Staff FG Tour F5. Great sound to it, and it launches scuds (once I got the right loft dialed in).

I think the original Nike driver had a very "dead" sound to it that I really liked. I didn't even own it, but my buddy on my high school golf team used to hit the piss out of it and it sounded great.

 

Close runner up would be the Callaway FT-Tour.

This is my kind of thread! I usually buy drivers purely on sound as i have ear problems which results in a lot of drivers sounding unbearably loud to me.

 

Superb (quiet) sound that i have tried:

2016 m2

Both years of nike flex

Cobra king ltd

Original ping rapture

 

Acceptable (reasonable thud or crack):

2017 m1

Ping g400 (not max!)

Nike vapor speed or pro (not vapor fly)

Titleist 917

 

Horrible:

Ping g30 (tinnitus and headache machine)

The PXG 0811. Best sounding and feeling driver I’ve ever hit or owned. It took the cake in almost every category in general besides distance, and my ego got the best of me.

 

That or the Nike Vapor Pro. It needed to be hit well, but when it was hit well, it felt / sounded fantastic.
