Hell..I already have to buy the second most expensive DISH channel line up to get the Golf Channel...and I barely watch it other than Th/Fri rounds...so a one off for around 20$..with the two most important players of the last 25 years...yeck yeah...it's like Nicholas and Watson playing each other in the 80's...all in.

Yeah...it was a hell of a match..Clause stocking around the greens...looking at putts from every angle...drove Watson crazy. Looked kind of cool with red plus 4's on and the beard and everything.

Whatever happened to Shell's Wonderful World of Golf? Those matches were exactly what this is. I don't ever recall seeing a bad episode of it. What we need to keep in mind that it's not necessarily all about the golf... it's about having two legends go head to head and be seen close up for posterity's sake.

I agree with others that it would be much more interesting if they put up their own money, even if it was a much smaller amount. I think that’s pretty obvious. It’s euqally as obvious that that is never going to happen. That said, of course I’m going to pay for it. However, some of you are making me think that maybe I should start watching my P’s and Q’s a little closer. For being such hardcore golf fans some of you are real cheap skates.

PPV. I don't think they will have many viewers willing to pay. Makes no difference who wins, it proves nothing.

 

Is this the future of golf, PPV for the Majors? Perhaps change to PPV when any tournament is close and requires a play off.

It's a unique event that will likely donate the profits of PPV to a charity. They also probably went to PPV so it could be live with both golfers mic'd up so they won't have to worry about any expletives that are said. No one is forcing you to buy it and you're clearly not interested in it, so not sure why you care so much.

The proceeds, which I imagine are after cost deducted, will be donated to charity. I also imagine the proposed 10 mil is going to come from PPV money as well as advertising dollars. This thing will flop hard. The description for these two is one guy coming back from surgery but hasn't won yet and Phil who has won once since 2013 Open Championship win. Um...

And it wasn’t that long ago they were playing them. It was cool to see guys play courses that weren’t the run of the mill we see everyday.

I heard that they're actually not playing with their own bankrolls. I would've loved for them to use their own funds for this then have the sponsors match the winnings so it can go to charity or something along those lines. Im sure the gamesmanship would've been epic

I'd rather see them pick a couple of average joe type players, handcaped amateurs. . Offer up a $100,000 purse (or whatever amount works) and watch them play. A couple guys who would be hugely impacted by winning.

 

Oh, and for those who don't believe it when people say they won't watch..... why? Not everyone worships Tiger and everything he does.

Actually I'm watching because:

 

1). I'm hoping that all the years of pent up animosity finally makes PM snap and he takes a swing at Tiger. It's rumoured that Phil's been workiing out with Daniel Cormier for the last 2 months.

 

2). I want to see Sergio streak the event wearing the new Adidas 360's for 2019.

 

3). Brandel Chamblee HAS replaced Gary McCord in the box.

 

4). Amanda Balionis will be number girling all 18 tees.

 

Forget the Ryder Cup, this is going to be THE golf happening of 2018, and you cheapskates are only going to get stills of Amanda while I've got the whole thing on video.
