Hey guys,

I'm going to be doing a new driver shootout this spring and I want to consider Ping, though I've never played Ping. I generally look for low launch low spin heads, as I tend to be a high spin player. Looking through this a bit, it seems like the LST is what I would want. Correct? But it looks like no details on launch date/availability yet?

TIA

Have you tried the G400 LST?

TXG did a misted fitted club of review for 2018 and they said the g400 fairway didnt perform as good with others but they got to test the g410 fairways and they perform. They didnt go into more details.

It's going to be tough to decide between the new m5 woods and g410.

Can you forward the link to the review if possible

I am struggling to find it

much appreciated

We fit and sold PING drivers the most in our store, and it wasn't even close. Literally every second or third driver was a G400 or a MAX. Then it was the Rogue. That changed some with the TS2 and TS3, but I suspect that we'll be back to fitting a ton more PING drivers in the Spring.

DRIVER:  Callaway Rogue ST 10.5

FAIRWAYS:  Callaway Rogue ST 3, 9, 11 Fairway Woods

HYBRIDS:  Callaway Big Bertha 3 Hybrid, Rogue ST 4 Hybrid

IRONS:  Callaway Rogue ST 4-AW

WEDGES:  Callaway Jaws Raw 50 S Grind, 54 S Grind, 58 Z Grind

PUTTER:  Odyssey Toulon Las Vegas

BACKUPS:  Odyssey Toulon Garage Le Mans Tri-Hot 5K Double Wide, MannKrafted Custom, Slighter Custom

BALL:  Testing

A man has to have options!

I'm sure the + is really good, but I do not understand the move away from the fixed weight set up now that we see it.

It seems they are doing the same thing as Taylormade with the M series. Having one model @ $399 with fixed weights and then the + model at $499 with adjustable weights? Thats what it seems like with the pictures that have come out, I could be wrong

Looks like Ping, TaylorMade, and Cobra all have the same driver this year. Hahaha.

M6 = F9 = G410

if that is the case, buy the cobra, it will be $50, the Ping $499, the Taylormade $525.

Yeah it was a really interesting video and the Ping comments around the 3 woods were fair as I rarely ever see Ping 3 woods in bags.

The G410 must be good if they're saying it catches up to the Callaway/Taylormades.

This is what I have been told about new 2019 driver pricing. Not sure how accurate it is though?

Ping 3 woods have been meh and wayyyy too spinny for me. I tried the 14.5 and the Stretch, neither worked out.

To be clear, my "OY" was in reference to them "catching up" to anybody.

Fact(?) is, OK, MY OPINION IS, the big 4 (and even some of the lesser knowns) make high quality "stuff" and the only difference from one manufacturer to the next is whether or not their "stuff" works for a particular player.

Why are they calling the regular version the Plus. Read they'll have a max version later in the year so seems silly to have. Plus and max in the same line.

Don't think the MAX replacement will be out until the beginning of 2020.

This is getting confusing lol.

And I think I see red peeking through on the side there, so red on the crown?

Disappointed it won't have the rumored sliding adjustable weight.

This has been known about for months (ie. 3 weight ports vs a sliding weight).

Ports make more sense to me from a design standpoint, creating the structure for rails above the sole, simply to have one weight somewhere on it is not as efficient for a low and deep CG like ping offers. Has there been a driver with tracks that has a CG below the neutral axis? Dont think so...

Also I believe the weight tracks add weight. And may not be in the most appropriate places. I think this was one of the reasons Wilson changed the Cortex from a sliding track to ports.

Correct! LST fairway will ship at the same time as the other G410 drivers, fwys and hybrids.

Do we have any info on the LST fairway yet? In true WRX fashion I have one ordered but don’t know anything about it.. just hoping it spins less than the standard version... but do we know anything about the footprint of it? Will it be similar to standard, more like the stretch, deeper, etc?...

Yep, hearing the same thing as well. That stinks.

Might keep me from PING unless I can get spin down on the normal 410. Time will tell.

I definitely will not switch clubs in June. I’m going to hold off and test the 410 LST next offseason. Hopefully the Blueprints will be out by then too:)
