Uhh, with the way he was smashing some of those ball out of the rough, there is zero chance his back is hurting him.

A friend saw a top shoulder surgeon today who had watched the press conference and was pretty confident Woods had taken some pretty serious meds. Who knows what for but it's hard to square the way he was going at the ball in the rough with how he looked at the press conference.

Ah come on man, here we go again "Tiger is on drugs",,,,,geez.....

He looked like a guy that just got whipped 0-4, what's he supposed to look like?

And I'm not even a Tiger fan, but that's complete **

you mean 42 year old guy that has a fused back and a year ago didn't even know if he'd be playing professional golf again. To then go complete a full year comeback, play well enough all year long to qualify for the FedEx race, win a tournament AFTER playing 7 times in 9 weeks, then flew across the world to play for the 8th time in 10 weeks looks exhausted?

But let's just run to the conclusion he is clearly on drugs again and his back is broken.

Give the guy a break. He played 19 tournaments this year and only missed 2 cuts. That's 72 professional rounds of golf. Probably 200% more golf than what he realistically thought he was going to play this year.

DJ and Brooks ready to go fight club

We pick via popularity contest not horses for courses

They are playing chess while we are playing checkers

Should we be shocked we loose home and abroad???

Mr Palmer, would be pissed

My only suggestion, captain for Rome - Billy Hurley III and a attitude adjustment, there appears to be more theatrics than a sorority house making us look like “grab-asstic unorganized pieces of amphibian sh*t”

I just hope you don't arrive with a toga and sunglasses at the opening ceremony :D

Ryder cup captaincy is becoming a poisoned chalice, especially for the USA team. Tom Watson didn't deserve the cr*p he received and I hope Jim doesn't get the same.

But he should get criticised. Furyk made some fundamental leadership errors:

1, There should have been a edict to play the course in advance. It is mind-boggling that for a tournament of this stature and a course of this type that only 6 of the US team could be bothered to play it in advance.

2, He should never of picked Phil for this course on his form. Make Phil a VC, explain the situation and pick someone better suited and in form.

3, Have a fundamental strategy for the pairings with options. There appeared to be too many knee-jerk reactions which unsettled players (Bryson/ Phil, Tiger playing 36 on Sat, Reed vs Speith) etc...

Furyk was a facilitator rather than a leader and must take some responsibility for the loss.

Once again, the blueprint Azinger laid down (pods, team spirits, horses for courses, course familiarity etc.. ) has been ignored.

1. Doesn't wash with me. Some did and it made little difference and would still have made little difference if they all had. Plus, they all had 3 days to examine and practice the course before Friday.

2. Calculated risk. He picked Phil for the same reason Thomas picked Garcia and Stenson. If Jim had picked Schauffele et all and they crashed and burned, people would be asking why Jim didn't go with experience aka. Phil.

3. This is not what the players are saying other than Reed. Most players appear to be happy with the selection process and thought that went into it, including Phil, who has been openly critical about this in the past.

I don't see how anyone can challenge Jim's leadership skills unless they were actually privy to it at the time.

We can all challenge Furyk and the leadership skills because of the results and turmoil that followed.

The pairings were not ideal, the playing of certain players was iffy, the lack of preparation was confusing (how do you not have 6 of your players even familiar with the course?) and you could make an argument against 2-3 of his captains picks given the course they had to play.

It’s ok to admit it does not look like he did a good job at all.

The proof is obviously right there for us to see. The players got outplayed and the Captain got his butt kicked by a better choice.

Just listened to the Matty and Caddie podcast. What a bunch of whiny dudes. Spouted about 100 fixes the US team needs. Just rattling off suggestions left and right. Mentioned Tiger & Phil should of played together... What!! Bunch of clowns!

They are clowns! I don’t listen to them any longer, specially that Country Club tool Matt Adams.

It's quite simple:

Don't choose an uninspiring captain with a losing record in the competition that he is captain for

Don't take 4 captains picks and then struggle for pairings

Don't play Phil in 4somes

Do push P Reed down some stairs before the flight

Don't be convinced that you are "the more talented team" and therefore entitled to win this thing, when in reality the margins between world class players are miniscule.

I see a gap. There definitely is a gap.

very true statement.

I watched 1st round of UL Crown last night, and the highly overmatched team from China took SK to 18 in both matches. Any player at this level that gets on a roll, can do damage.

So Lefty has stated he's not going to play courses with 'brutal rough' anymore.

He says, "I'm 48, I'm not going to play tournaments with rough like that anymore. It's a waste of my time," Mickelson said on Thursday at the Safeway Open in Napa, California.

"I'm going to play courses that are playable, and I can play aggressive, attacking, make lots of birdies type of golf I like to play.

"The fairways were 14 to 16 yards wide. The fact is they had brutal rough, almost unplayable and that's not the way I play," he added. "I don't play like that."

Fair enough. Hope the rest of the US RC team doesn't feel the same.

He hit a tee shot into the water 50 yards off the target line on a par 5 with a 5 iron.

He missed a par 3 green from 170 yards with an 8 iron to lose the match.

Is he also going to no longer play courses with water?

I love FIGJAM and golf is a better game with him in it but wish he would, just once, engage his brain before speaking.

Tiger did sound a bit weird but I am guessing he was extremely exhausted, and also trying hard to project some sort of gravitas and to act super-disappointed at going 0-4. His game looked a bit indifferent at the Ryder Cup, but was it really so bad as to suggest that he was zonked out on drugs the whole time? Is my question to you.

He's hilarious. He's properly lost the plot. The fairways could have been 100 yards wide and he'd have missed them. Guess he won't be at either Open next year if a bit of long grass upsets him.

What an absolute roaster. Can't wait until he's Captain. Worst loss in history. Guaranteed.

So he's not playing at Pebble Beach either? What about Portrush if the weather cooperates?

If he had just said this and declined the invitation before the Ryder Cup began....

Of course he says this and shoots 65 on the course where the pros hit the fairways at a 50.3% clip, the second lowest on tour last season.

Ah, Phil was frustrated, just venting, much ado about nothing much. To Tiger, he was just tired. Mentally, physically whipped. Won his biggest event in years, hops on a plane for eight or nine hours, plays a practice round or two while still jetlagged, then plays in a highly charged atmosphere. He needed a bunch of captain Jim's 5 Hour Energy.

yep...exactly, on all counts.

If that is how Phil really felt, then he would be consigning himself to tournaments most fans don't give a hoot about. I don't see Phil being content with that. He needs some time at the casino to get bored with life outside of golf.

I do think that the FedEx Cup series wore a lot of people out, Phil and Tiger being the oldest were probably the most worn out.

I don't think Phil and Tiger are Ryder Cup material any more, but certainly, Phil can compete on tough courses where birdies are at a premium. He probably doesn't have to worry about seeing rough like that again in his competitive lifetime.

FORE RIGHT!!!!

I'm sure he will, but he still probably won't see rough like that. Although, if I recall, Merion had some pretty tall stuff, as did Chambers Bay...

No excuses, but my bet is Tiger had a virus, same as another (Bubba) did. I don't think he felt well.

Bottom line, the US Team had it taken to them, pure and simple, the best team easily won.
