Did Charles Howell iii leave PXG?

Recommended Posts

Greg Norman, Michelle Wie, Lydia Ko, to name three.

Wie tinkers too much with her swing and ko let her dad get in her head about getting flatter and interfered to many times during lessons. Her fall off had nothing to do with leabetter ather her desire to gain distance and not being able to tell parents no

Regardless, all were world class BEFORE going to Leadbetter. Since then?

You're right, Shark hasn't won for a while.

Shark? Lol...

Even if ch3 doesn't win....kinda an FU to PXG

How's that? He was playing well with PXG equipment.

Uhh...let's see...0 wins with PXG.....first week with another manufacturer.....WIN.... Do you understand the "how's that?" Now?...

No one's ex-staffers win immediately after switching to a competitor's equipment like ours do. Period.

Oh yes, the equipment thing. FYI, he was 0 for 5 with 54 hole leads, way before PXG was even around.

What would be the excuse?

It's funny because I'm not a fan of PXG for my own reasons and I am a fan of Titleist. But CHIII has always been one of the best on Tour tee to green regardless of what was in his bag. He didn't win much when he was with Bridgestone and they get a lot of love on this board and I think he was with them a lot longer than he was with PXG. I haven't compared his ball striking statistics from his PXG years against any others - I'm just not that interested. It could have been that the PXG equipment just wasn't a good fit for him but that doesn't make it bad. And I'm not aware of any bad blood between Howell and PXG so I didn't get the F U reference unless seve1972 has some kind of inside info. Howell just had a very good, and well deserved week. And I found more humor in the CT headcover on the Spider putter than anything else.

Pumped to see CH3 win again, such a solid and consistent player. Want to see him win more now!

Interested to see how he does in the majors and WGCs from now, so far his record is quite poor.

Kuchar, Westwood, Willet, and now CHIII. Hmmmmm. It's great to see guys who've been somewhat or mostly written off win again. DW another victim of the WRX reverse jinx. :D

Can't say it was purely down to equipment, but I am inclined to say it helped him get this one for sure. "At this level, guys can play anything"... While I am sure they have less issues than most of us switching around equipment, the fact that a lot of guys have gone with mixed bags kind of shows that what they are looking down at is very important to them, maybe Titleist IS better than PXG in this aspect for CHIII. We will see how he does going forward but it will be interesting to watch.

look...I think it's interesting that his win came at the timing of him moving away from PXG...that's all. The "FU" was not intended to speak on behalf of CH, but rather represent success despite PXG (it's called Hyperbole ya 3rd graders....).... but to say it was not because of the equipment is borderline misguidance. Do you actually think he would have won had he bagged PXG........really?....we'll never know....
