T1100 Smoke/Hulk is here....

That's strange considering the PO is counter balanced and should be swung faster v the tip heavy HZRDUS. Different playing lengths and/or strike location?

Nope, both playing at 44.5” with the same strike location. Just felt better with the Hulk

So glad to hear this. I play G400 LST w/ PO 60tx. Wasn’t sure if I should go with X it TX in a 60 6.5 but went with the TX. I can get a two way miss with the PO if I don’t time my release right. Misty looking for better dispersion. This going in a G410+.

I guess I’m in a different camp than most of you. I swing around 110-112, have been playing AD-GP 6X in my driver, and backed down to the 60 6.0 in this shaft due to how stiff it is, and it’s turned out to be perfect. Feels incredibly stable and I can finally feel the head during transition. I had to suck up my pride to back down to 6.0, but I’m quite glad I did.

It’s definitely not as much of a beast as they advertised. I played a whiteboard 83x for years and granted it was soft but this isn’t the monster they claimed. I got a 70 TX and it’s really manageable. I’m pleased though because the flight isn’t really low but it killed a lot of spin I was getting

Had my second full round with the Hulk. I have to agree, this thing is VERY playable and maybe not the beast that we thought it would be. In fact, I think it's much smoother feeling than the T1100. I have the 60 X not tipped at all and without Trackman data, I can tell you I am SKYING this guy. At times, too high. Granted, I have a very flat swing, hit up at 4* and tend to leave the face open. (Working on that). But, no one should be scared of this shaft. And, it feels wonderful. PX did a great job.

As for it being a total beast, I can't say I feel that....but, I am NOT in the TX. There are shafts where the TX is a completely different animal and this could be the case here.

Great feeling shaft. Not a telephone pole. Actually launches high for me.

Yeah, pre-release prices were high from several outlets, but once it hit official release everything seemed to be around the $300 mark from what I have seen.

I've had 2 range sessions and 1 round with the 70g 6.5 untipped and I love it. My old shaft was the t1100 6.5 60g and this feels much smoother but still stiff. It does launch a little higher then my usual shot but if I tee it lower I can control the trajectory better, which is something I couldn't do with the t1100. My distance seems to be further and my grouping is much tighter. The one odd thing is the torque on the shaft is 2.8 but the the specs on the website says it is 3.2. It is a very playable shaft but still feels stable when I swing hard with a swing speed of 116-120.

So I saw the EFSZ TD come out, and I loved the face that it’s a fade biased 450 cc version with a higher toe and a straighter leading edge look to it. Being that hook is my big miss and I stupidly went back to softer shafts this spring, I’ve been hook city with the longer clubs.

So when I saw this and some suggestions about pairing it with the new TT HZRDUS Smoke Green shaft, it piqued my interest right away, despite the fact that I’m not a big Callaway fan, don’t normally like the shape of their drivers, and thought the OG Epic felt like a brick.

So naturally after a another bad round of taking baby swings to avoid a hook, I decided to order one from Will Peoples. I also had recently acquired the Mizuno ST-190 with Tensei CK Blue in it but it was also a hook machine. Even with the face opened all the way up it looks slightly closed to my eye. But it does look and feel amazing. So I also ordered an Accra Tour TZ6 to pair with it to see how the Mizuno performed with a better shaft. Especially after seeing how well the TZ6 and ST-190 paired together in the TXG video.

So it all came yesterday and I threw the Accra in the Mizuno and headed to range. It was much better than the CK Blue, I was getting high draws rather than low hooks. The only other shaft I remember getting low hooks like the CK Blue with was the AD DI. But anyways it still was a little loose and so I tried the Epic with the HZRDUS Green.

I immediately started finding the sweet spot almost every time, and I was hitting these towering low spin drives with basically no side to side movement on them unless I hit a worn out ball. There’s a big berm at the end of the range with woods on the back side of it, I hope they look back there next time they’re collecting balls because I hit a bunch over the berm which I’ve rarely ever done before. Usually a piped drive lands halfway up the berm and maybe bounces over.

Long story short as much as a am not a big Callaway fan and hate the big stupid ugly head cover it came with, this thing basically feels like it was made just for me. The driver is hot melted but does make a lot of more a “tink” sound than I’m accustomed to with the composite heads of late. But it just feels like sledgehammer going through the ball, very explosive and crisp feeling like you can feel the balm exploding off the face.

Anxious to try it with my XS or TP5 Wednesday night at league. Will report back once I’ve had some course time.

Officially decided last night that I'm going to tip my Hulk 60 X a half inch. I was bombing this thing last night but there's no question I was hitting it too high. JD of JD's Clubs was playing with me this weekend and he knows my game inside and out. Normally, he encourages me to not chase the low dream drive at the expense of control. He shoots me straight when I need it. Even he said "you're hitting that a bit too high."

So, gonna get the saw out and chop a half inch. Makes me sad because I love the purple bottom. HAHA.

Make no mistake though, this thing feels AWESOME.

Dumb question but if you tip the shaft, do you have to order a new adapter or can they remove the original adapter without damaging it?

So the ST-190 and TZ6 worked? Or ST-190 and Smoke green? Or EFSZ and green? Pretty confused after reading that

The TZ6 dramatically improved the ST-190 but the ST-190 just sits a bit closed looking to my eye even when opened up. So despite the performance gain from the TZ6 the EFSZ with Smoke Green wins out. I love the way the TD Callaway looks behind the ball the the straighter leading edge and open face.

Not a dumb question. Yes, I would just have a well trained builder do it.

Liked this shaft so much in driver I ordered one for my TaylorMade Original One. This shaft plays stout but feels smooth. Reminds me a little of the KK XT from years back.

I am playing the Original One with a pro white in stiff, really like it, but would like to try the green in it, should be able to handle a 6.0
