When Tiger won the 2002 tournament at Bethpage, his opening round Thursday started on the 10th hole. I believe he jumped into the lead very early with a couple of birdies on those long par 4's. Obviously Koepka crushed it today as well and appears to be in position for a possible blowout victory this week. Fleetwood started on the 10th today and also shot a very good round. It's a tough start for all of the guys on the back nine, but it can be done and that's the luck of the draw with the tee times. Brooks now has a chance early in his second round to really start putting some pressure on the rest of the field.

You think Brooks can't shoot -1 on average over the next 3 days after absolutely murdering the course today? I think things will dry up - but not a ton. It's not going to get super hot/dry I think tomorrow will play somewhat similar to today. I think if he shows up with the mental game strong, he can easily shoot 3 or 4 under tomorrow.

It's not hard to let greens get out of control when it's windy and 80 degrees, 0% rain or moisture put onto them. It's rained a ton here in the northeast over the past 4 days. I think yesterday was the first time I've seen sunlight here in NJ since Saturday.

What a disaster for the PGA. Something like what Koepka did is great on a Saturday or Sunday. It destroys a tournament when its done on a Thursday.

I know it is easy to say it is over but Koepka was 66/71 at Augusta. He could shoot 70 tomorrow and Fleetwood could shoot another 67 and be one off the lead.
