What up with Rory?

Golf and majors consumed Jack and Tiger. They had families and whatnot, but their singular pursuit was to be the best and pummel everyone. BK might feel that way, I'm not sure...but I'm fairly certain spieth, Fowler, rory, etc definitely DONT feel that way. They will be quite content with 50 million dollars, a few majors and a career of flying around the world "hitting a little white ball sometimes."

I think that Spieth has the drive of a Tiger or a Brooks - but lacks in the talent department.

Generally speaking, over the course of a lifetime, people tend to follow a "pattern" with their relationships. Maybe he was never "right" for marriage. Now for pete's sake, whatever you do don't get me wrong, please - I am not saying anyone went outside the marriage. I just can't help but think he's struggling with concentrating - emotions are shown with the putter.

I’m sure Diamond is a fine player, but if Fitzgerald was too hard on Rory, Diamond may be too lax on Rory. I noticed changes after their split, and yes Rory has won since then, but not at the same rate as when Fitz was carrying the bag. I also noticed his enthusiasm about the Ryder Cup was not there, no spark.

I don't drink, but thanks for the eloquent contribution. Top 10's and one victory? Check his record with J.P. and then come back with some more childish insults.

He is fast to take action, rather than relaxing his thoughts, taking the bogey and trying to regroup. I think his mind works too fast and his thoughts get ahead of his round. By Saturday, he's got to be washed out.

The fact that Rory is the player and the celebrity that he is and how he plays golf must be exhausting. If I had that many good looks for birdie inside 10’ and missed my fair share of them when “all eyes and all expectations are on me” I have a feeling I’d be extremely frustrated as well.

Not trying to make excuses for Rory I’m just saying it must be frustrating.

Just read an article that addresses the "indirect" impacts of poor professional performance. It can reflect back to friendships, family and also strain the communication pathways with a spouse. I remember both Phil and Jack on their interviews with David Feherety both plugged their "good communication" with Amy and Barbara to help them get through the rough times. It's not just communication but the quality of the communication.

Thing is, he doesn't have to be Jordan Spieth with the putter to win because the rest of his game is so good. All he has to do is hover around the top 50 in sgp to push for victories.

He's one of a few players that can win anywhere if he's on.

But it seems like this week if going to be about hitting mid/short irons into the greens? Relatively speaking, there's less holes for him to bomb it 30 yards farther down the fairway past everyone but a handful of others.

Yeah good point.... but he still sucks at putting and it kills him a lot.... a lot

Can't figure how to like my own posts

The statistics from this year don't back that up at all but keep running with that narrative, i guess?

Why? I am not saying you are wrong, I am just curious why you think he deserves it? I feel (eye ball test, no data) that in watching a lot of golf Rory was more consistently good through out the year.
