And you're adding what commentary?

Back on Topic: Tiger needs to figure out a schedule that works for him, and if this is it...he's done. Rory on the other had just seems to lack any conviction. I think a surprise winner takes it this year. Maybe Lowry, maybe Finau. Maybe a newcomer.

In my opinion, Tiger's lack of preparation is secondary to the fact that I simply think he needs good weather to be competitive with all his physical issues. Both the PGA and U.S. Open were played in abnormally cold conditions this year. I won't really be concerned till I see him struggling like this in good weather.

I will always be a Tiger fan first, but I'm also a Day and Fowler fan. I think either of those two guys could potentially pull it together (unlike Tiger who is probably done for the year). Especially Fowler. I'm half expecting him to to finish Saturday T-2 only to fade on Sunday just when he gets my hopes up.

Correct above: Tiger needs warm weather. As a fellow back surgery "survivor" I can vouch "TRUE DAT!"

Rors death knell ... the slow start. He hung on for a while there

Had the same thought just looking at the leaderboard earlier...but then found out he took a 13 on one hole due to a wrong ball fiasco and it makes more sense.

This. I'm trying avoid surgery. When they start cutting on you, you're never the same. When it's cold and/or wet outside with back issues, it's game over. You hurt and can't move well. Phil's arthritis is probably the same issue.

Rory, I have no answers for. Were the expectations too big? Did the favored status get in his head?

The new compressed Major tourney schedule really does NOT work for Tiger, Apr May, Jun Jul, boom boom boom, boom. they come too quickly, well except maybe for young Brooks, for now at least.

Evidently, Nike seems to feel the "design" somehow ties into the course. But, they fail to mention anything about how....

Yes, shame on David Duval for using the exemption to a major championship that he has earned.

David made more birdies today than Tiger did.

Sadly, Rahm, Simpson, and JB in the hunt early. Three players I don't enjoy watching

Id have zero issues with Webb Simpson winning. That guy is perhaps the most underrated golfer on the PGA Tour. Certainly underrated amongst American golfers.

Webb hasnt finished outside of the top 30 in a stroke play event since March.

Posted this thought a couple times. Along with the armchair analysis of one round and why “x” is finished and can’t play no more is ridiculous. As a golf community you’d think we’d know how evil this game can be and no one is immune. Little bit off = disaster, at places like this.

Any struggling pro here, could go lights out next time they play.

The hot take media has affected the mindset of the fans. Tour talk is an absolute pain to navigate most major weeks.

This leaderboard and more importantly the venue are too spectacular to continue non sense talk.

I’ll finish with an observation: j day tried to hit a chip 8i, dumped into the front bunker and saved par easily. With such short game prowess, he gets away with a lot of iron miscues. If he controls his flight, he’ll be there Sunday.

One of them was probably short a few shirts and so they just shared the extras. Next time they need to agree on what they wear each day. Luckily they are not paired together. That would have been embarrassing.

[Duval's 13](https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/golf/2019/07/18/british-open-david-duval-makes-13-just-short-of-highest-single-score-in-history/39697233/ "https://usatoday.com/story/sports/golf/2019/07/18/british-open-david-duval-makes-13-just-short-of-highest-single-score-in-history/39697233/")

_It was determined that Duval lost his first two balls from the tee and then played a wrong ball for the third ball. “On discovering the mistake at the green he had to return to where the wrong ball was played, but the correct ball could not be found.” Then he had to “play again from the tee for a fourth time under penalty of stroke and distance._

_“He played six shots in completing the hole with the fourth ball from the tee. He incurred a two-shot penalty for playing the wrong ball but the strokes played with the wrong ball do not count in his score.”_
