European Tour’s ugly new logo

It's no 'Live Under Par' is it...> @Golfjack said:

Maybe because it's more of a global tour these days?

Speaking of which, I think the use of "further" is intentional - the ET is taking the lead on different formats of the game (shot clocks, 6 hole matches) so it does make sense in that context.

Why you don't like PGA Tour's? I think is looks good annd pretty fitting with the other American leagues logos

I suspect the next "rebranding" will get rid of the word European entirely.

Check back in 2030.

Should have been done 10 years ago. An iconic moment, but sadly one that fewer and fewer remember with passing time.

The logo is OK but I much preferred the current one. However the pointless slogan is awful.

After the horrendous rollout of the ET's new website a couple years ago now that was rolled back as it was so badly received, I see they are beta testing a new site now. Will be interesting to see if the logo gets tweaked.

The day that Keith Pelley leaves his role as CEO of the European Tour can't come soon enough. Bland terrible logo, and he is also hell bent on wrecking the website with a new (worse) look as well.

All Marketing "style" and no substance, overflowing with useless ideas and all at 4x the salary of his predecessor ...

Meanwhile they still haven't made an app or even sorted out the awful mobile version of the website which would have been out of date 5 years ago

Much bigger priority than the logo (which is perfectly fine as is)

The European Tour has launched a creative new brand strategy, with the aim of broadening the Tour’s appeal to new and existing fans and commercial partners.

Golf’s global tour has unveiled its new identity, which includes a modern, fresh logo alongside a new website and App, all underpinned by the Tour’s guiding principles of Innovation, Inclusivity and Globality.

The brand refresh focuses on ‘Driving Golf Further’, the strapline which features underneath the new logo, as the Tour seeks to build on its strong, established reputation for award-winning content, innovative tournament formats and immersive technology.

Hmmmm.... and now I still don't know what "driving golf further" means. Maybe when they add a Putt-Putt tournament I'll understand.

In 2017, the European Tour website has horrible and difficult to navigate. They had to move it back to the previous design.

This new logo doesn't really shout out "golf" or "European Tour" does it?!

Whoever agreed to this should be terminated with immediate effect.

The logo honestly looks like the sort of thing that a 12 year old who had forgotten to do their computing homework would come up with at the last minute. Honestly, just terrible. Who passes these things off as being acceptable?!

What I am taking from that is that even the guys who produce the content have no idea why it has been deemed necessary to rebrand?

Also, has the new colour of blue been chosen because it is the same as Keith Pelley’s glasses?
