I think we’re all hoping for a positive resolution for you!

Thank you, very kind of you to say!  Don't realize what you have until it's gone.  I think byron helped us all realize how lucky we all were now to have worked with, or got to know him for some of you.  Appreciate those pieces of art he made.  And please, don't sell them on ebay for 3x what you paid for it.  That's just not right, and not what byron was about or what he would of wanted imo.

Try to sell on ebay... no one is buying them, same ones have been on there for 7 to 8 months now.

Sorry to hear about this … Putter is one of a kind and the irons are rare … Do you have the serial number for the irons? .. File a police report and keep an eye out because both aren’t common place and should be easier to spot …

Absolutely.  Have all the serial numbers for my irons and just waiting to hear from the police/pawn shop/ebay/etc.

Messaging back and forth with LaMont about trying to duplicate this putter.  LaMont had a ton of respect and admiration for byron.  Would be cool to make this putter and have some kind of tribute stamp to honor byron on it.

Here, here 👍

Beauties, John.  And welcome.  Do the folks at East Coast Customs do more complex stuff, like new hosels??  Byron used to change out plumber’s necks to pipe or rincon, and it’d be nice to know of others who can do that work up to his standard.

Very nice 029, btw.  Don’t see many of those with a flange line.

Also if you have any info on the 10mm stamp he did under the weight? Steve wasn’t sure and nor are we.

Was wondering about that myself.  This is now the second time I have seen that 10mm stamp (the other one, btw, is on eBay right now).  Surprised Steve Z had no info on that....  Maybe the width of the top line?  That would be a pretty thick top line and/or face wall......

Sorry to hear about your Channel Islands.  Good luck with tracking that down.....

Thank you.

I have its twin brother (a Stainless DH89) with the same face mill & the 11 sounds/feels much better. Hard to explain really, it's almost like the firmness of a carbon yet softer/quieter...

Lack of cavity reduces vibration thus a softer sound.

Here is another one of those 029s with the mysterious “10mm” stamp on it.  If anyone has the history of, or explanation for this, would love to know.

This one is pretty rare as far as 029s go - flange line, X stamping and carbon steel.  Most I’ve seen are sight dots and SS.  Couldn’t resist those features and the 10mm conundrum when I picked it up.  Also beached like most other 029s.

Expertly refurbed by Lamont (thank you!!) with a new long pipe neck, face milling and black ox finish.  I am going to try and enjoy this one quickly before Mr. Baker comes after it 😊😜

Maybe the 10mm is something related to the offset.

Though much is taken much abides;
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
- Lord Tennyson

This thread got me feeling nostalgic. Pulled the DH89 out of my closet and took a trip down memory lane. Been gaming my 009 for a few years so I kinda lost track of my BM for a while. Going to bag this for my upcoming golf trip for old time's sake. Thanks Mr Morgan, this is quite a beauty you built.

Might just be a personalized stamping of the original owner of the putter?

Maybe, but I have seen at least two of these putters, so did the original owner buy two identical??

Lamont had an interesting guess - that this is a twist on the gun lovers' stamping of "357 magnum" (when the headweight is 357g) or "44 mag" like some custom Bettinardis.  I guess the putter is heavier than 357g, and a 10mm round is bigger than a .357, so maybe that fits somehow.......???

The other guess is that 10mm is "10 models made" and that this is a one of 10 situation.  But then why not the "x of 10" stamping that we usually see??

Still no clear answer IMO...
