Agreed.  I do miss PT and the Byron Morgan board there.  I am sure those of us who know and are friends with Byron or have ordered a putter and are fans of his work are keeping him and his family in our thoughts and prayers.

I miss Byron Morgan. I have had more putters than I can remember, Bettinardi, Cameron, Piretti, etc. etc.etc. but eventually I have two putters at this time and one is a Morgan 615.  I just putt extremely well with this model. Someone had ordered it from Byron and it just had "615" on it as the rest was plain and the original owner put it on eBay. I sent it to Byron with how I wanted it and this is the result. Extremely well balanced and hand finished by Mr. Morgan. I will never sell this putter.

Love that 615.  I've often thought about ordering one.
I've been a big fan of Byron's 612 for many years.  I absolutely love mine (Byron softened the edges a bit on mine).  Feel is amazing and the build quality is outstanding.
It's been one of my favorite putters in my collection for several years now.  His putters are both eye-candy and great gamers.

That's awful to hear. I only dealt with him once but he was the most accommodating person I've worked with in the golf industry. I wanted something completely custom and he delivered. I gamed this putter for 3 seasons and it brought me a lot of memories. When I first got it, it was BLUE BLUE. It has since faded a bit but still the coolest putter I own. RIP BM.

That’s an absolute bummer. He built me two putters over the years and he was such a nice man to talk with.  Really loved his craft and he was spectacular at it.  Rest easy my friend, you will be missed.

I ordered this 615 to give to my little boy when he beats me scratch.

Not knowing what to expect, I just sent him the blueprint and he delivered exactly that. 
He’s work will dwell among our family forever, RIP master…

AFAIK Byron WAS the company. I thought I had sold this head cover from Byron when I sold my DH89 but found it! Typical of Byron's great sense of humor.

Much respect to capitalism, it shouldn't. The work was iconic and it bears his namesake. It's not a mass produced product.

I don't have too many equipment regrets, but selling this cover was one. One of my favs.

A lot of the newer putter junkies don't realize that Byron had a PGA Tour win before Scotty.  I believe it was a SoCal tournament and I cannot recall the player to save my life.   Just a quick bit of trivia that a few here will be able to add to, I am sure.

Byron was also a designer and contributed more than just what we know as Byron Morgan or John Byron putters.   He was one of the nicest, most generous men I have come to know in the putter world.  His presence is missed on a daily basis.

Great to see guys posting here with shots of their putters.  Keep it up.

Here is what my Byron Morgan 615 looks like at address. The plain putter with the 615 was on eBay cheap. So I bought it and sent it to Byron. He cut a sound slot and did all the stampings I wanted plus the new 'Tia treatment', hand softening finish. I just wanted to show how talented he was to take that putter and turn it into a gorgeous, professional grade putter. He sure had a lot of skill.

Byron definitely took something plain and pretty unremarkable to something personal and much more appealing. The ugly duckling to swan.
