Any rumors for Mizuno wedges?

I like the T-20s but wondering if a price drop is coming ahead of any new Mizuno wedges.  Any rumors?

There most likely won't be a price drop for the T20 series until next summer. The next T series wedge will be out fall of 2021 along side new MP line if Mizuno follows normal release cycle.

pingnewbie, check out the new Mizuno ES21 wedges if you get a chance!! I've been playing the T-20's and demo'd the ES21's on a whim only to find out I like them better than my T-20's. I would definitely give them a fair chance!!!

I'm intrigued by the ES21's.  What did you like better than the T20's? Not a lot of info out there on these.

I play the T20 in gap wedge and sand wedge.  I had the low bounce in 60 and I couldn't spin it nearly like other OEMs. Hopefully, they catch up in the spin department.  Ive noticed more spin with the DG Spinner TI shaft in my 60 degree.

You are right on with the T20 spinning less. It’s actually the reason I  went with them. Cleveland wedges were on the opposite end of the spectrum with spin for me, if you are looking for more spin.

I wish they had more grind / bounce options in the raw finish. Looking for a 54 / 58 and online they only have them in 8* bounce. Was hoping for a higher bounce in the 54*

Unless I am mistaken all loft/bounce combos are available in raw.

I've played the T-20 Wedges since early in '20 - I switched out to Pro Modus 3 115 Shafts. I play the 54 in M Grind at 12 deg, and 58 in C Grind at 12 deg. I also have the gap wedge. I'm having no issues with only 2 grind options in the higher lofts

I've had no issues in firm turf with opening up the 58 a lot in the C Grind in a slightly steep swing but all swings are different. I've gone to a less steep swing now, not holding any lag on short pitches and chips and they are working fine in softer/normal turf conditions. And they seem to be versatile in tighter conditions (tight grass) with a more shallow swing. I play the ball close to the front foot on higher pitches and move it back to keep it lower but not beyond middle of stance (not back) unless the lie is odd.

I also have the 60-06 and I can't hold lag and/or I must angle the shaft back so that leading edge doesn't bite the turf. Not good in soft conditions - bought it as a links wedge. I won't use it unless really firm and doubt if I will play it back in my stance.

Just bought a 55-09 in Nippon Pro Modus 3 Wedge 125 as a goldilocks bounce option - in raw so I can shave off more trailing edge off the M Grind if needed. With a more shallow swing in our regular firm conditions - 8-10 deg is fine.

If the grind fits, you get more spin with the right ball. I was surprised by the spin using the B XS Ball - I could be aggressive as heck with the wedge and get great bite. I am experimenting with balls now. I did find that some wedges have too much bite - Vokey SM7 with a ProV1x were unpredictable for me - they bit too much when I swing for roll - it's a swing technique that I'd have to work on. But the T20 is more predictable as I've holed or gotten close this year more than I ever had playing more golf in other years.

The advantage to the MP-20 like the Ping Glide 3.0 and Forged is that they are more consistent in terms of spin retention in the wet. Other wedges don't have that spin retention in the dew/damp conditions. Read the reviews - I'd rather have consistent high spin in all conditions than super spin in the dry and suffer a huge loss in the wet.

I was sent this photo of a satin ES21 wedge. Hopefully this is released in January 2021. I prefer the satin version over the black finish.

Really close to picking up a pair of T-20s but wondering if I should give the ES21 a look. Maybe I’m wrong but they seem similar to the PM grind or TM Bigfoot wedge - speciality wedge that’s great from the sand or if you open up the face/ hit flops - which I don’t do much. Also hard to get over the weird shape / look.

Also, I answered my previous question. Guess Mizuno now offers all wedge options in Raw (at first it was only limited to certain loft/bounce).

I'd go demo the ES21's if possible and give them a fair shot. I just happened to be at my local pro shop when they got their demos in and boy am I glad so. It's not a wedge I would have picked up on my own, but because the guys who own the shop were messing around with them I got lured into trying them. Funny thing is they kicked the T-20's out my bag!

this wedges address the issues of previous high toe wedges that were great around the green but not so great from distance. Honestly in my opinion it is the best wedge out there. Followed by the zip cores. I have the zip codes but I am getting some of these in a month or so.. I am super impressed. I know the look may turn some away but the performance is outstanding In My opinion.

I'm looking for a demo day that may never occur - for $200, I need to hit it on the turf.
