Maxfli Tour balls

Thats a large number of golf balls! lol

I would add, I returned 4 dozen of the Tour balls when i read about the paint chipping off the yellow balls and sold another 4 dozen Titleist Prestige balls because the pearl cover didn't get along with my sunglasses. lol

I really liked the yellow and the green Maxfli Tour balls, I wish the new version had the same finish.

I bought 2 dozen Maxfli Tours.  1-gloss white and 1-yellow.  Played with the yellow.  Yes, the yellow paint job is not great.  Played a course with a lot of water and lost the ball by the 6th hole.  However, it wasn't that bad and I enjoyed playing the ball and the paint scuffing didn't affect any of the ball's performance.  I would buy them again.

Nothing performance wise that the Maxfli Tour doesn’t do as well as any ball. I really don’t need high spin on most courses I play. We play a game, usually 9 holes, if you win a hole you get the punishment ball. Usually something we found. I played a hole with a pink Softfli, made a par after a 275 yd 3 wood off the tee and a birdie with a Top Flite something. Wasn’t anywhere close to that average with the Tour balls. 🤣

playing the Tours now...they definitely do not hurt my game.  gonna try out the Xs and see if i notice any difference.  that being said, srixon's B2G1 free for some QST's is kinda pulling me that way.

Pretty wide range of compression with those three balls.  QST is very low for a urethane ball, Maxfli Tour is in the middle and Maxfli Tour X is amongst the firmest.

Yes, I played QST for a year before Maxfli Tour. QST is a MUCH softer ball, with less spin.

the key feature being that they're on sale, tho.

3 dozen QST = $70

4 dozen Maxfli Tour = $105

About $2.50/dozen difference.

I'm a senior with an estimated swing speed of somewhere between 85-90mph. Which of the two Maxfli Tour balls would give me the best distance off the tee? Are the Maxfli Tour balls differentiated as X for high swing speeds and non-X for slower, like other balls?

I wouldn’t recommend using swingspeed as the determining factor. Tests have shown that even at slower speeds the firmer X balls go further. It’s more about feel and spin to determine what you prefer. I’m a little quicker than you at 90-95 but play the Bridgestone Tour B X because it goes further off the tee for me than softer balls, and it flies a little higher off the irons for me. If possible see if you can purchase a sleeve of each an see which you prefer.

I've played this ball all season. Played Srixon VStar and QST before that for maybe 7 or 8 years. I personally like the Maxfli tour much better. The spin is perfect for my game. Working this ball is magic.
I have tried the X version and ended up using them in the shag bag. Much firmer and tended to get out of control when trying to work the ball.
I would compare the Tour ball to the ProV 1 though I truly feel it is a better ball for me. Except it’s half the price.

We are similar in SS. I have played both. It seems to mr the tour plays better then the X.

Just my 2 cents

How is the new yellow glossy version? Do they feel and play as good as the new white version? The glossy yellow are rarely in the store.

I bought a dozen gloss white and a dozen gloss yellow.  They play EXACTLY the same.  I really like the yellow now my eyes are getting on in years.  HOWEVER, in my experience, the yellow have a tendency for the "paint" to scuff a little easier but it's not the urethane chipping or peeling off.  I doesn't affect the ball performance at all.  That being said I think it may be a batch or ball to ball issue.  I used one where the paint scuffed on the first drive of the day and another out of the same dozen look like new after 9 holes up until I lost it in the thick fescue.  When I buy them I always buy 1 doz. yellow and 1. doz. white.  🤷‍♂️

Still playing the 2019 model, and the yellow is pretty durable, until you hit a cartpath.

Actually played with a yellow Maxfli for 8.5 holes on Sunday.  went 4 over through 8 and pulled the drive a little on the 9th into the rough that borders the driving range.  Ball should have been only about 5 yards off the fairway but couldn't find it among the 50 or 60 or so yellow range balls.  AAARGH!  However, up to that point, the ball didn't have anything other than a small scuff by one dimple.  Barely could even see it.  I love this ball.  I have a $20 off $100 at DSG and will buy the 4 doz. Tour yellow pack.

Unfortunately, Dicks does not sell a 4 doz. Tour yellow pack.
