In all seriousness, is it time for Tony Finau to give up the Piretti?

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I really want to see TF win one already.  Seems he’s always close but can’t close the deal due to his putting.  Anyone else think it’s time for him to move to a new putter?

He should try something new, worst case scenario is he doesn’t win just like before

Yep, it was the putters fault. Classic GolfWRX.

No, it’s not the putters fault - he just doesn’t seem to putt well with the Piretti when it counts.  Maybe I should have made that point more obvious.

I’d love to see the guy win, don’t get me wrong.

Everyone is aware that Finau is great at his job and makes a ton of money. It's just that the untapped potential is equally obvious.

I'd bet that if you ran a poll of the PGA tour players and you asked them to name the 3 best athletes on tour that DJ and Finau would be on pretty much everyone's list.

People would be saying similar things about DJ if he had won 3 times on tour with no majors.

I think it was his shoes, that model is notorious for being 1/8" low in the left heel and leads to a lot of pulls - didn't seem to matter on the 24 or so straight putts he made from 10 feet and in over two days, though. So it probably is the mere fact his putter says "Piretti".

Guy misses from a tough spot, pretty much his only miss, lol . . . .

Not the putter, nerves.  In tight spots he hits poor shots.

Or he doesn't keep shooting really low scores, posting top 5s, and making millions of dollars. There is that, too.

Y'all realize this is a job, right? And Tony is really good at, ya know, making money at his job?

You sound personally offended by the thought of him making a switch, am I speaking to Tony? 😂

Switching for a couple of tournaments isn't going to bankrupt him. No one says he has to throw the Piretti in an incinerator. He can keep it in his rental for the week and sleep with it, but sometimes it's good to look at something new.

Tony needs to start closing the deal is what he needs to do. That shot on 18 that left him an up and down chip shoulda been a chance at birdie putt. But yet he leaves it short on his approach and there you go. His putter is just fine. I wanted him to win as well but that’s what separates the upper echelon players. The guys who close the deal.

Just amazed by some people ... dude is playing great golf - coming off a final round 64 and 3 straight runner ups ... he's getting ready to play one of the most important stretches of the PGA season, and some think he should switch putters. Just odd.

He keeps getting into the thick of it and once he figures out how to win, he’s going to do it quite a bit.  And by thick of it I mean shooting a 64 on a Sunday to climb up the leaderboard and lose in a playoff.  He’s too good and talented to not be a multiple time winner.

So maybe Homa should lose the one he was using?  After all he missed a 3 footer on 18 to allow a playoff.   Sheesh!!!
