I have to agree with you on the white driver heads and for that matter white fairways and hybrids too. Carbon crowns the jury is still out on that one for me. I have only owned one carbon crown driver which is a M-6

All those screws and other similar decorations on clubs are meant to create the impression there is some sort of engine in the club head that will mechanically assist the user in hitting the ball higher and farther.

 

And it apparently works…in creating the impression the ball goes higher and farther.

Funny, I went from an RBZ (white head) to a Mizzy ST-190 because I absolutely love the look of a gloss black head with a faded carbon crown, and I wanted the duller crunch of a carbon driver vs. the tingy ping of a titanium driver. 

 

I loved the RBZ when I had it, and I love the ST-190, but I'd play with a rock on the end of a stick if I had to.

Yep, beyond that its not even optimally functional for recreational golfers.  Most tour pros when they play casually do not use a tour staff bag.

Besides the fact that batteries would easily last an entire day at the beach and you can just toss it into the basket in the back of a golf cart, you're not wrong.

There're very, very few items in the world I will suffer through ugliness. The Flatso is one of them.

Callaway irons are the ugliest major OEM 'players' irons you can have in your bag, and the Callaway logo on a golf ball makes it too ugly to look at on every shot

Everyone’s shaft selections are too stiff. The gap from the best players in the world to even the single digit HC’s is so large but we aspire to be like them so TX it is.

Definitely can't stand music blaring when I'm trying to have a peaceful round of golf. Should be outlawed, and yet even the oldest CC in my city allows it. I guess everyday is the Phoenix WM Open for some peeps.  Personally, I blame Happy Gilmore.  Add me to the list of haters of staff-bagging hackers.  Most of those peeps could benefit from walking. rant over lol

I filleted my Pistol GT 1.0 and wrapped it with Gripmaster leather thanks to a thread on here, no regrets.

I can understand not wanting to hear "blaring" music on the course. But you can play music on the course without being obnoxious. I do play with music on but you can't hear it beyond 10 ft from my cart. If I play with strangers I'll ask before if they are ok with it. I do find it ridiculous when you can hear it from 100 yards away, but I find equally ridiculous how adamantly opposed to it many people seem to be.

Don't mind it.  Golf is supposed to be fun and relaxing, as long as other people aren't blaring obnoxious music that infringes on others.  Having the radio on in the cart at a reasonable volume for some tunes, have at it.

 

Personally, I listen to the Cubs game.  Stream the game in a small speaker tucked into the pocket of my golf bag while I am walking.  You can't even hear it unless you are within 5 feet of the bag.
