Bryson having fans removed for saying “Brooksie” to him...

If BDC played any other sport he'd try to have 95% of opposing fans ejected because "Brooksie" is about as mild as it gets. LeBron probably gets insulted 10x harder at church on Sunday.

I do suspect that the BDC vs BK is being somewhat hammed up, though their dislike for each other (or rather, BK's dislike for BDC) predates this "engagement bonus" thing by a year or more. As a fan, I think it's becoming tired. If it's 90% golf and 10% insults / Twitter drama then that's fine, but I think the ratios are close to reversed. At this point I don't want to see or hear a word from BDC unless he's on the golf course or delivering a public service announcement for autism awareness.

False equivalence. Not sure why this is a recurring nonsensical argument

I'm dreading watching the PGA tour on tv lately, wondering what sort of bs drama I'm going to see jammed into my eyeballs.

All of this stuff is turning the PGA Tour into pro wrestling.

I hate it.

I haven't watched the men play in a few weeks bc of it.   I'm watching the ladies.

Never hear a “mashed potato” watching LPGA. Hmm wonder why

Think more along the lines of actual fans of golf and not thinking getting hammered is cool

Yeah, I know. Just read your post and immediately thought “veggies?” Haha.

I am sitting here watching the French Open tennis. (Great match btw Sakkari/Krejcikova) And I’m thinking about this topic. Tennis is a sport that does have a closer equivalency to the decorum expected of fans at a golf tournament. Though in major tennis fans will yell/cheer between points. And then quickly go silent (most of the time) before a shot his hit. Compared to sports like baseball, football, basketball and soccer where it’s acceptable for fans to yell, scream and “go nuts” while someone is literally in the process of trying to win a game. Golf is still WAY ahead of the curve. But there are definitely a few cracks in the dam that surrounds the golf experience. Will be interesting to see where it goes.

1. Bryson isn't doing it, security is.  It's unwanted behavior at golf events, and people that yell Noonan get tossed just as easily as Brooksie.

2. At this point, I hope fans follow "Brooksie" and yell Bryson at him... ALL... DAY... LONG... EVERY... DAY.  The guy really deserves it.  And when he cries, cause we all know he will, let's revisit.

Golf fans are WAY closer to the players and are literally walking on the field of play.  In other sports, they are in stands, and those stands have a surrounding barrier a good distance away, and it's just background noise.  There's a big difference.

If fans were walking on the football field up to the huddle and standing next to the QB on the field yelling miss it Noonan miss, pretty sure that would last about 2 nanoseconds before a murder took place.

Of course. Tuff to make a fair comparison between golf and football/baseball. In basketball the fans are as close as they are in golf. Court side seats are quite literally, on the court. And they definitely don’t follow the same decorum as golf fans. Just a completely different set of rules of conduct. Golf is still VERY civilized in comparison.

So broooks just said that Bryson didn’t even say anything to him ?  Lol. That Bryson was just talking loud and it grated on him.  Then follows it with “ I think this feud is great for the game.  It gets younger eyes on the game and  they love this “ ( paraphrasing slightly from memory ).

so I read that to be an admission that it’s fake to begin with , and that he is the one who instigated it and then puffed it up for “ publicity “ sake.  ? Is that about right ?

so it really is WCW on Saturday morning. Wow.

"Brooksie" is not yelling to miss anything, it's showing support for BK, another fellow competitor. Compare to someone saying "Go Tiger" when Sergio is around... or even "Go Segio" when TW is around (but I don't think anyone ever said that). If BDC didn't want to hear "Brooksie" then he shouldn't have participated in a made-for-TV feud. Fans are going to choose a side.

It's showing support for a player that isn't in the tournament?  Makes sense, said no one.

His spin about rivals and just trolling is a thin veil that most folks with any kind sense can see through.  And if he keeps it up, he might not like the Ryder Cup experience he's about to get.

Want to take a wager on what happens when people start yelling Bryson at him all day?  He will be whining all over social media, the press room, with his caddy, security, even some 80 year old lady volunteer marshal at the event.  It's just a rivalry and the fans are just trolling Brooke Shields

“I think it's good for the game. I really do,'' he said. "The fact that golf's on pretty much every news outlet for about two weeks pretty consistently, I think that's a good thing.

"It's growing the game. The younger generation -- I get the traditionalists who don't agree with it. I understand that, but I think to grow the game you've got to reach out to the younger generation, and I don't want to say that's what this is, but it's reaching out to a whole bunch of people. It's getting golf in front of people. I think it's good for the game.''

BK love to grow the game! Love the fans.

Except when they are chanting “Phil!!” and treating him like a door mat. Then he cry and whine 🤣

This is growing the game BK…

Exactly.  Pretty amazing really that a 50 year old golfer can still grow the game in today's 8 second digital instant gratification world.  Go Philsy!

Bryson could just as easily tell security NOT to escort people out for that, but he's as soft as a blanket.

Lol.  No it’s exactly as I expected. Just thought some of the believers in the feud might like to hear of its non existence from the horses mouth.

Plus, if I was part of the “younger generation”, I’d be a bit insulted that BK is saying the way to reach out to me is to act like a fool.

Meantime, BK himself , as well as Rory, Spieth, JT, all these guys. They grew up imagining and motivated they could be like just one guy.

And it wasn’t because he was getting in Twitter spats ; )

Security executes what the PGA Tour, sponsors, and law enforcement expect of patrons, and they enforce it where it's blatantly ridiculous (which is usually after warnings).  There's a laundry list of things they don't want people doing.

What you're saying makes no sense at all.  And that pretty much sums up the entire Brooksie crowd.  I have yet to hear one super fan of this guy make any kind of logical argument for the behavior, including the man himself.

Me personally, I don't care for either of these two self absorbed tools.  They are both an embarrassment to the tour and themselves.  But Brooks (seriously, the name alone should tip people off that he's a pompous d bag) is just considerably worse between the two.

Actually Brooks said Bryson was saying something about how he hit a perfect shot and it shouldn't have ended up there.  Who knows...didn't hear it on the mics...

I do know however, that Bryson said that exact thing several times on the course during the PGA, because I distinctly remember Bryson complaining about his drive ending up in some high grass when he "hit a perfect shot"...because David Duval had even had enough and replied...."Uhhhh, no you didn't, you're not in the fairway, you didn't hit a perfect shot, the ball doesn't lie", or something to that effect (I'm paraphrasing), because I remember thinking...Whoa, Duval is getting spicy...

Oh agreed on that. I just took it as he felt Bryson was whining about hitting a perfect shot and it just annoyed the hell out of him after a difficult round. I just wanted to note that it had happened several times that day, and I remember Duval's comment specifically because I haven't heard the golf commentators call BS on something a player is saying...at least not since Johnny Miller used to back in the day.
