Ping Putters. What's new for 2022? Any info?

You can buy a brand new Scottsdale Anser from Morton's for about $130 and try it out.  I had one (not sure what happened to it) and I absolutely prefer it.  Not a fan of site lines, I covered mine with lead tape on my SS Anser 4.  I would love the PLD Anser 2 with no site line.

Cool! I’m pumped to try! I know there are quite a few people who really prefer that. I could see it freeing me up, not so line focused, just like not using the line on the ball (which I have tried and abandoned, So maybe it will be the same for the line on the putter, too!)

Hovland’s putter is carbon steel with patina finish so it will rust if not maintained. You could always send a retail pld stainless putter to an aftermarket refinisher and have it torched to a darker finish.

 Do you know if hovlands neck/shaft style is the same as the release? From pics it’s hard to tell.

He has a heavier stepped belly shaft in his putter but it’s the same head shape. The release is stainless steel his is carbon. Same weight. Both face balanced. Different face milling as well.

How does one order the carbon finish, is the custom options available through any of the online retailers?

You would have to go through a fitting with Ping and order through a retailer. It would be the $1300 custom PLD.

I saw on tgw and Morton’s that the PLD milled are now listed as back ordered until may 17th. 
I hope those of us that ordered early get them sooner.

My guy told me estimated 3/31 still. I placed my order with him two or three weeks ago. I'm trying not to think about it....

Oh wow.  I had an order in pretty early.  Hopefully it was early enough to avoid that back order.  Was hoping to start the season with the Prime Tyne.

So custom PLD update - I'm doing the virtual fitting, and got my kit in the mail today.  Great presentation, some nice leave-behinds as well.  Super-easy to configure the ipod, answer a few questions, and then you are off and putting!  Everything went very smoothly.  My only thing - I could definitely feel the weight of the ipod and attachment on the shaft, and had a few "zalatorus" back swings, but I hope I had enough normal ones for them to get good data on my putting stroke.

When is your zoom meeting? After you return the kit?

The zoom was scheduled at sign-up.  Mine is at the end of March.   I assume the $200 deposit covers the chance you don't return the ipod.

FYI this looks like it's a geo-locked page. If you VPN in as a US IP address, the site works. If I'm on a NZ IP, it's a 503 error.

im a little surprised there haven't really been any youtube reviews from the usual club testers on the pld mille line.  Ive only seen one or two. Hopefully they get some up this week

"zalatoris" stroke. now THAT is funny. it's so true though. the kid is so talented will probably go on to win a Major. but watching that putting stroke you'd think it couldn't win "A" Flight in the club championship.

Nice solid feel like you would expect from a fully milled putter.  What surprised me is the small size.  It’s smaller than a Rossie 2 for example.  I guess that should be expected as there is no aluminum to lighten the center.  Nice putter and looking forward to getting it on the course.

The hidden star of this lineup is the black Anser.  This is the putter I’ve been wanting another manufacturer (ahem) to make for years.  The head looks so pure from address.  I love the simplicity of the design - no cherry bombs, etc. - this is a pure design.  The head size is original Anser size so it’s compact.  The graphite shaft feels great and give the putter a nice swing.   Combine all that with the midsize blackout grip and this thing is sick.  I’ve been wanting a clean, dark finish Anser style like this for a long time.  Thanks PING!

Envious of those who got theirs early or is currently in route. I checked with my shop on my DS72 and it's still in "boxed" status. Hopefully it ships soon!

Are the faces on these mushy soft? My only concern with their so called aggressive milling was it would feel too soft

I think the PLD Prime Tyne 4 looks good.  How much toe hang does it have?

I don’t think so.  The graphite shaft has a different feel but I wouldn’t say the milling feels any different than a normal mid mill.

I thought it was going to feel mushy soft, the ds72 was definitely not.
