Copper p790 coming 2/1

Saw this on the new MyTaylorMade+ app this morning looks like it’s going to be the new home for their exclusive stuff and will require a membership to buy the stuff.

Doubt it.  I have had no luck with any copper finished irons over the years.

If it's a PVD finish then no thanks.  You can be a middle-of-the-clubface guy 99% of the time but one toe hit's gonna make it look like that's all you do.

Epon used to make a copper finish that was extremely durable and beautiful as well. i Wish manufacturers would replicate that finish or the black finish that TM used on the limited edition RAC Coin forged MBs

Looks like exclusive membership product access will run you $119/annual. In addition, I don’t see these being the same price as their non-copper counterpart.

Does it get any better than the copper AF302's? I would do horrible, unforgiveable things for a set, or for Epon to make copper irons again.

I was all smug and snarky and went to check in preparation to come back with a powerful "akshually." ...and actually, you're absolutely right. Funny thing is that I ordered a set of irons and some other things a couple of weeks ago and got everything in days. 🤷‍♂️

I'm not especially interested in buying an iron with a cosmetic coating that's likely to wear poorly, especially when it costs more than the standard offering.

I agree.  A few kids we know have the copper cobras and they just look fake.  Would be nice if they patina over time but they almost look gold.

I had those RAC coin forged MBs…those were so sweet.  Wish they would do a modern version of those (with the same smoke finish).

I’m not sure how I feel about this. I think it’s awesome they’re offering one off clubs but not so awesome that I have to pay $120 to be  VIP enough to purchase them. I’d rather see more things like the Toulon raffles.

The cobras wont patina, the finish just comes off and its not a raw steel underneath, why they didnt do the same process like they did with the forged tec blacks is beyond me

You can tell my the high gloss that it's some sort of PVD and it'll wear like trash. Whatever Cleveland did back in the day with their BeCu wedges should be the only want to do copper on a clubhead. Ping's looked nice as well. 

 

Vokey tried a few years back with their copper limiteds and those looked OK for a while.
