Club with that special sauce

You know that club when you hit it just had that special something.

 

Might be that driver which straightened out your ball flight or was super long, or that wedge that spun the cover off it.

 

Mine is the new Callaway Rogue ST Max LS, coming from Mavrik this thing is amazing! Not sure if it's the shaft, head or the whole package but it's 280 down the middle almost every time.

Used to be my Callaway Diablo Octane Tour Driver. A bit shallower face, compact head, and 3/4" shorter than standard. Low, high, draw, fade, it could do it all (and not when I didn't want it to). 

 

But now? TE C721 3w at 15*, no question. I have the same feeling with this as I did with the Octane. A rocket off the tee, and a bullet from the fairway. It just feels right at address, so I'm comfortable at what it will do. As with any club, if you are comfortable at address, then you are confident in your swing.

Callaway X2Hot 2 deep, 12.5°. I've had a handful of holes with that thing where it ends up longer than my driver. Sound, feel, and looks are fantastic. Surprisingly easy to elevate off the deck, it's a weapon.

Wilson Staff 5 Hybrid, UST shaft. Not fancy but when all else fails, it always comes through for me.

PXG Gen4 0311 X, felt it was gonna be great on the first hit at the fitting. If I have to get it in the fairway this is the go to.

Mine is my Custom Callaway Rogue ST MAX with Ventus Red 6s at 45.5".

 

Just pure driver bliss. I am quite addicted to the feel of a centered shot.

I just fit in to a G425 max 3W dialed to 15.5. thing in an absolute rocket and you can do anything with it. Coming from a Radspeed this thing is like magic.

My Sub 70 699U. The first time I use it on the course I have 195 into the wind. I’m hoping somewhere near the front of the green and I get it to less than 10ft. Next hole is a par 3 185 into the wind again. Put it right on the green again. Next hole is a par 5 and I pull my drive into the trees. I have to keep the ball low and the lie is just hard dirt. The shot stays low goes about 180 and puts me in a good spot for my third shot. Now I’m not saying every shot as good as the first 3 but I use this thing for all kinds of shots I trust it so much

Titleist TMB 3 iron. Just enough help and hot enough face to double as a driving iron. Also forgiving off the deck for 220-235.

Stealth+.  I haven't been this excited/amped up about a driver in a long time.  When I first heard about it late last year, I thought that the carbon face was a bunch of hype and bs.  Boy, was I wrong.  It's very forgiving on mishits and very consistent spin wise.  1-2 mph increase in ball speed may not seem like much, but every little bit counts.

New school- Taylormade P790 4 iron- it is almost foolish how easy that club is to hit long, high, and straight. I’ve been asked more than once “is that some sort of driving iron??”. Nope, its a 4😘

 

Old(er) School- Orlimar Trimetal 13.5* Strong 3 wood- I was not consistent with fairway woods at that time, but if I caught that thing it was gone. Been playing a local course for almost 20 years, still one of the longest drives I’ve ever hit on the 9th hole there is with that 3 wood. We’re talking first gen prov1 era and that still holds up to 2022 tech, blows my mind!

Agree with the Octane tour driver and even the 3 and 5 wood to keep it 💯.  I still have the driver it's not that much shorter distance wise than my gamer Speedzone.
