2022 Bridgestone BX - shocked!

I’ve been a long time Pro V1x user but found that I was ballooning too many drives and iron shots. Switched to the Left Dash for a few months and over the last two weeks I’ve decided to try the BX. Totally impressed with the performance of this ball. It’s softer - much softer than the LD which seems to make it react better to iron shots not struck appropriately. Driver distance is solid. Right up there with LD, softer than the V1x and not impacted into the wind the way the V1x was. I haven’t played a Bridgestone in years, but this new BX is checking all of the boxes. Lots of short iron spin.

Been playing the 2020 BX since it was released. Imho it’s the best performing ball when you take all the categories combined. Have not tried the 2022 ball yet, but looking forward to it.

How close was it distance wise with the LD off driver

I’d say it was within a yard or two, and I’ve had some long drives (for me with LD). SS around 102mph. I just felt like into strong winds - I got more out of the BX. And the big thing for me was iron play. Surprised at how nice it felt off of iron shots.

Does anyone have experience with the B X at slower (less than 105 mph SS)? The B X was the top recommendation for me by Ping’s Ballnamic fitting, and my driver SS is 93-96 mph.

Although I'm sure the B X would be fine (those swing speed guidelines are just that... guidelines) you might get more out of the B RX at that speed.

The B RX is the ball Lexi Thompson plays and is designed to be the B X alternative for people with slower swing speeds. Similarly, Fred Couples plays the B RXS which is the B XS alternative for people with slower swing speeds.

My speed is the same as yours, and the BX performs great for me. I would not give any merit to the swing speed softer compression recommendations. Robotic tests show this not to be true.

How slightly are we talking? Is it the same ball on the course essentially?

I believe I saw b x spin consistently less by about 200 rpm. Saw b x ballspeeds faster by 1-2 mph (closer to 1 than 2).

B x has noticeably less sidespin. B x just holds its line better than xs.

How did launch compare with the XS?

Also, how was launch and spin on irons compared to the ProV1X?

I’ve been experimenting with the Chrome Soft X, but I think it may spin on the irons too much for me, but I love it’s straighter ball flight compared to the Titleist. It’s definitely a match off the driver and around the greens.

The BX is a solid tour ball.  I currently play the left dash and MTB-X and have tested pretty much all the higher compression tour balls.  I would have no problem playing the BX if it wasn't my love affair with the left dash, lol.

As long as left dash is loving you back, that’s all that matters….

I’m giving the new tour b x and z star diamond a run for the bag this year.  The Srixon’s are so damn good off the tee is what keeps me going back to them.  However, the Bridgestone shines everywhere.  Just not quite as long off the tee, but I know that’s not the end all be all.  Where the Bridgestone really shines is short game.  Feel off the putter is the best and feel off the touch wedge shots are second to none.  Mid iron production is a wash.

Have you been able to test is against the current Pro V1X? The old one few straighter and was good everywhere except for off the tee. I'm hoping the new new can keep up and still perform like the old one everywhere else.
