Apex or TCB. I feel like TCB should feel better than Apex and apex pro.

I play miura. I honestly preferred the 223 but I hit the miura better. As I get older I want to make the game easier. I’m looking for forgiveness. I want a iron that isn’t a huge sole, little offset, stronger loft, and feels great.

I play Miura as well and the TCB are among the best feeling calllaway irons. 
 

they really hit a home tune with these. Just don’t keep mine because the shaft was not right and already had a pretty sick set up with me MC501….. but they just did an amazing job the the TCB…. They blew it with the X-forged CB  though…..  the offset in the short irons is tough to swallow.

Tcbs feel fantastic until you mishit one. 🤣

Also comparing them to a 223 isnt a fair comparison, two different types of clubs.

Agreed on both!  Mishits were awful.

 

223s are much more forgiving IMO.

I got fitted for 301. I had to bend weak to get rid of offset. They feel good the 9 and pw are massive 

 

try the Wilson d9 forged

cobra forged tech.

or the ping i230 coming out as well.

Forgiving- depends how you define that. Do they retain more speed on mishits- yes. However my front to back dispersion was worse with the 223 cause i would get a crazy jumper every now and then.

yes retaining speed. Interesting I haven’t gotten any jumpers yet with 223s. Having played HMP, I used to get 1-2 a round.

I just got a set yesterday. Got them on a whim, hadn't seen them in hand, just in videos. Really happy with them, look great at address, feel is brilliant and love the traditional lofts. The mmt shafts are something else.

Interesting. Aren’t the lofts literally the same across the board with both? What would the reasoning be behind this?

 I have the same shafts in both and I tend to deliver the club with lower dynamic loft. The TCB’s flew a little faster, lower, longer and with lower spin. Also I’m not sure on the offset measurements but they looked a hair more closed to me than my MB’s. Weakening my 5 and 6 really fit my looks, yardage gaps and in ball flight preference.

It has been really quiet on the callaway iron front.  I wonder what they will do with the x-forged and apex line for 2023. Love the TCB.

Company stopped fitting for '21 X Forged CB in late July, so if there's an update to that coming we'll likely see it either late this fall or early spring of '23.

 

Then again, the response to TCB has been such that the company may decide that X Forged is redundant. I'd be surprised by that, but we'll see.

TCB getting a refresh, and probably a really good look (assumption) at combining the Apex Pro and XF CB.
