Callaway Releasing Limited Driver and 3Wood

Smaller profile.  Less “protrusion” like the TD retail triple diamond design has.   There’s a few of us out there that has no care for 460 elongated heads or even 450cc of the TD variety.  Bring me back to a time when there was a beautifully shaped head circa Cleveland Launcher 400. The TSi3 is the “best effort” so far as decent shaping for those like me who refuse to accept modern day big headed driver design

The tsi4 exists and is phenomenal

Now is the TSi4 pear shaped as well? I must admit I haven’t tracked down a good pic at address to compare.

TSi 4 is rounded in comparison to the TSi 3.

Id rank the Titleist drivers like this:

TSi 2 - stretched

TSi 3 - pear

TSi 4 - rounded

I'd call it more apple shaped.  The hosel to bulge is pretty immediate.  Tbh, I liked the tsi3 more at first.  But after looking at the tsi4 for over a year I think it's the best looking and sounding driver on the market.

It'd still be in the bag if I didn't work up a 6⁰ stealth plus that I'm seeing 600+ rpm less spin than a 7⁰ tsi4 with similar shafts.  That big drop helps control spin better and let's me use a firmer higher spinning ball (v1x) without any downside, so it's been a great switch for me.

If the replacement to the tsi4 is a true low spin head, it'll probably boot the stealth (which I'm not a huge fan of besides the low spin and sebsequent bump in ball speed).

I still dont get how these were sold to market if they were not supposed to.

If something is tour-truck only doesnt it go from official Callaway hands in Carlsbad (tour dept) to official Callaway hands on the truck directly? Where is the middleman?

If the production numbers are so low which is normal for van-only products (maybe a production run of less than 100 heads or so) how do they let them slip out? How is an order even placed by FairwayGolf to get them?

Doesnt make sense.

Thank goodness for this.  The retail Triple-D is too fade biased.  I'm an inside out (not over the top) swinger almost to a fault. I push the retail Triple-D because I swing inside-out with the open-face of this driver.  I have to work hard to turn it over or even hit it straight.  Neutral is best.

That was what I mentioned back to Johnny Wunder when he stated that he didn't know where they were getting them from.

Given the small batch size and tour serial numbers, Callaway should be able to know exactly where these heads came from and where they were supposed to go.

Maybe they're unloading excess inventory of this model now that they have gotten their tour staff taken care of?

Something definitely fishy.

They aren't coming from Callaway, so no need for "Pre-Sale". The inventory is the inventory; black and white.

You'd think, the inventory, regardless of where it came from, was "In Hand" before selling to the masses on their website.

I didn't purchase either, but I'm a Cally TC guy. I for see some cancellations and refunds on these. Just my personal prediction.

Generally Callaway keeps tour truck heads for 2 cycles due to players not immediately switching and needing replacements of whats working for them. Lots of Callaway staffers using 1-2 gen old fairway woods especially, it's one of those items thats hard to take from someones hands once it works.

My thing was I thought Callaway saw that no one on tour really liked this specific head very much (I think there's 1 or 2 of them in the bag right now with someone?) and decided to offload them while they were popular so they dont end up with 80 heads on CPO next year with no one wanting them. If you look at the 'tour certified' inventory on CPO right now from past models it's insane how much is listed for sale.

FG USA  has been around forever and is one of the premier places to buy custom clubs including some JDM.  DD’s is up there as well and then you have the rest after that.  I have little concern here.  I have received no notification of any shipping delay. Having said that I was one of the first to pull the trigger so maybe that matters.

The TD and TD T are different clubs. Just as the TD S is different than the TD or TD LS, etc.

I know there are a bunch of different drivers, but it seems like all of the fairways I've seen in bags are the Triple Diamond T (Rahm, Mcnealy, Leishman, etc).

Its possible - I feel like I've been seeing more TD than TD T heads. Can't quantify it though.

I didn't dig into it. Honestly, the only thing that remotely intrigues me is the ∆∆∆S. And even that, really isn't over the hill intriguing.

∆∆∆S Driver = 101,200 Yen = $763 (right this second)

∆∆∆T Fairway = 60,500 Yen = $456 (right this second)

FYI

Nice. Rogue ST TD driver prices on ebay about to tank finally!

Are they getting any of the TD fairways with the adjustable hosel?

Yes someone is telling a pretty large fib. They most certainly know how it happened.

I may snag one when people start selling them because they can't hit it very well.

Fairwaygolfusa has some Japanese connection as well and I bet they are sourcing them from over there.
