You guys are interpreting what they said wrong. The differences are too small to go into the year one phase of production. You save that for year two or 3 for a profit boost on an older deaign family. 😂

Honestly I would like if taylormade a new loft sleeve closer to Callaway's or Titleist's. I get that it would be a hard transition and you couldn't swap out old drivers/fairway woods but I would like it if taylormade had an option for a flatter lie angle

They have, shorten your shafts or grip down the grip.

how flat do you need? Lie angle shouldn't even matter for a club that doesn't touch the ground during impact. 

Titleist gives .75 flatter and Callaway only has upright which is D. Only thing TM sleeve can't do is adjust lie angle independently from loft. However I find the single rotation systems is much simpler to use than having to memorize a whole matrix of settngs.

For me, I would love to be able to flatten the lie angle on the fairways specifically.  The driver isn't as important.  I was seeing a very significant left miss that I don't seem to have with fairways that are flatter.

So I think that on the Stealth Plus the lie angles are great. But on the standard stealth or like sim max fairway woods I would like to have the ability to make it flatter even though those are one bonded hosels. It has gotten slightly better over the past couple of years now that they have it at 59* instead of 60*. Or I would like to see something like the m2 tour again in fairway woods. The drivers and such have normal lie angles I have no problem with how the drivers are, just fairway woods having a flatter option would be nice

Interesting.. I didn't realize M2 tour had 56* lie. I wonder how the lie got more upright over time.

So the standard m2, m4, etc. always had relatively upright lie angles. It’s just that Taylormade stopped making “tour” versions which generally entailed flatter lie angles, deeper face, and smaller head. My best guess is that they did not sell well or it is kind of redundant to have a tour version when you have something like sim Ti or stealth plus. Currently selling my old sim Ti Version 2 which has a 160CC head instead of the retail 180CC head.

Since Rory and Tiger are playing in The Match in December....what are the chances that we see the new driver in play from them? It seems like a great advertising opportunity for TaylorMade (and a nice preview for us), but it may also depend on whether they will switch from the current Stealth+ model. TM did this last year at the PNC, but I suppose that is because they didn't know when Tiger would tee it up next.

Rory has historically good at switching into the new driver when it comes out. Tiger was good with it at the PMC so I wouldn’t say us getting a peek of it is unlikely.

Seems like a lot of YouTube/podcasters have had their hands on it (Rick Shiels, the Foreplay guys).  They’ve mentioned they can’t talk about it until a specific date but I haven’t heard when that is.  Once it hits though, there will be a lot of content all at the same time.

Some learnings from dialogue with my TM-rep:

 

* Stealth 2 will have the same color scheme (red/black)

* carbon on drivers only. The weight saving from having carbon faces in fairway woods is not big enough to improve MOI in any meaningful way

* a lot more carbon in the heads of the drivers, to be able to move even more weight and improve MOI. biggest difference in performance in the normal stealth head

Oh baby.  If it's the return of the moveable weight that would be huge for me.  I loved the Stealth+ 3w but needed some fade bias that I had no real way to add to it.  If that weight comes back like the M5, the new 3w will be on the table for next year.

+1 on the MWT.  I wish TM would find a way to incorporate it again in their new offerings.  That tech always worked well for me.
