To you…I will take 2-4 yards less carry and hit fairways with the Sim2

If it's between SIM2 and Stealth, the Stealth performed better for a larger audience. There were more people having a harder time getting into the SIM2, mostly because of the removal of the weight track. Stealth was easier, from what I saw.

I can't speak for your experience.  But for me, the stealth was amazing.  I found the Sim to be straighter than the 425 LST.  And the Stealth Plus to be even straighter yet.  Whatever fits a guy best I suppose.

That is why I said “you” 🙂

For some reason I had a 2 way miss with S+, but go back to Sim2 same setup and went away.

Sim2 was very good too. Slider weight was the difference. I would have played sim2 if TM would have made one with the front weight in the toe.

I had the SIM, SIM 2 and now Stealth Plus.  Out of the 3, I like the Stealth by a mile and it's not even close.  Consistent ball speed and spin, but that one tiny hot spot............If there is one negative about it I would say that it's super low launch and spin for me.  I find that it's critical, no, imperative to get the correct loft and pair it with the right shaft to get the most out of it.

Pretty much the same experience I had.  Sim2 Max is not the longest driver for me but it hits the most fairways by far.

I’ve got high hopes for Stealth 2.

You must not have read up much on the poor durability of the stealth.. epoxied face coming off, cracks in face, dents and bubbling in the coating, etc.

The stealth+ has had much fewer warranty claims with TM than the sim and sim2 lines. Much fewer, because of the carbon face...it doesn't crack nearly as often as the thin metal faces. Heard this directly from someone who's in the business.

I've been keeping up with all the noise from the get go.  In fact, not sure if it's in this thread but I posted that mine has a tiny bubble that's low on the face that hasn't affected performance at all.  I always worry about cracking the face on any driver since I'm a high ball speed player, but so far so good.

As mentioned, the failure rate of the Stealth hasn't been outside the norm, so no it does not have poor durability. It had more eyes on it than any modern driver release from a durability standpoint because there was the expectation it WOULD fail, so anything fitting that expectation was going to be amplified on internet forums. We obviously saw some failures, but not statistically significant ones.

Yes, but it's also been less than a year since its release. Nobody has gamed the stealth for more than one season, so long term durability is still TBD.

I'm curious to see if TM will mention durability in their marketing campaign for the stealth 2.

Yea I'd say the bubbling is the most common small issue I've read about, but I agree its impact on performance is negligible. Only time will tell if it gets worse

Yeah that is a good point, Stealths on the used rack in a few years are going to be interesting, but I think mostly from a cosmetic standpoint. The failures seemed to be related to delamination within the carbon layers and complete separation from the body. Both are epoxy/resin problems that should be pretty straightforward to address, but the bubbling issues on the face might be trickier.

Very true it’s finicky.  I had a 8 degree plus head I loved.   Loved loved. Face came off. They replaced it.  And the replacement head was so much different.  I couldn’t hit it well to save my life. Same exact shaft.  Two months I tried. Finally sold it here .  And it turned me off the whole line.  I feel like I either had a head marked 8 and actual 9.  Or I got a replacement marked 8 actual 6.5.  That’s how much off it was.

Exactly my thoughts. And as far as I can tell, TM has been pretty great to work with in terms of warranty.

Maybe they’re tweaking the face design to make it more durable. Maybe they see the failure rate as acceptable. I think when the carbon face fails it seems more dramatic since part of it falls out. It doesn’t dent or crack like thin titanium does.

Same issue here. I had demo’d one for a few weeks and had it set up with weight toward draw and neutral hosel setting. When I bought one about a month later, that same setting was hitting everything low and hooked. I’m now at + setting on the hosel and the weight set toward fade for same ball flight.

My personal thoughts are we'll see stealth:stealth2 to he the same as sim:sim2

Tiny bit of added forgiveness.

I'm not really sure how much more forgiveness they can get with it. Yes, for you nerds out there, I realize there is higher moi to be achieved. But on course performance is just so stellar with stealth+ that anything straighter is just hard to imagine.

This would also jive with typical 2nd cycle TM releases.

I went through 3 stealth plus heads from April to July.

Durability at higher swing speeds is absolutely an issue with gen 1.

I wouldn't expect a carbon face to last very long with your 130+ss though.  Maybe look into reinforced titanium faces like Krank drivers and the like?
