Very true it’s finicky.  I had a 8 degree plus head I loved.   Loved loved. Face came off. They replaced it.  And the replacement head was so much different.  I couldn’t hit it well to save my life. Same exact shaft.  Two months I tried. Finally sold it here .  And it turned me off the whole line.  I feel like I either had a head marked 8 and actual 9.  Or I got a replacement marked 8 actual 6.5.  That’s how much off it was.

TM has been notorious in the past for not being close in terms of actual loft for their drivers so that doesn't surprise me.  Are you sticking to the Ping or getting next year's Stealth 2.0 or whatever they will call it?

The Stealth has held up better than I ever imagined. I've played over 200 rounds this year and am regularly playing with or around D1-D2 college players. The only head failure I've personally witnessed is on a Stealth Plus head where the "inertia generator" mount was cracked in the 3 o'clock position. These kids swing hard and fast and most are not known for their CFC.

If T-M can improve the next iteration as well as Titleist has done in the "TS" line, they'll have the best driver available to the masses.

The answer to better golf is work your butt off and learn how to hit it better, farther, and make more putts.

So much fun to read about the so called durability flaws of stealth. Working in the business I havent seen or heard of a single one outside of the odd picture on this forum. So not sure how much of a problem this really is

Well it’s a serious problem if the failure rate is significantly higher than say the SIM2 Max if one keeps drivers outside of the warranty period. The advantage of the Stealth appears marginal at best. From memory, warranty on a replacement only extends to the same period as that of the original driver - 1 or 2 years, I forget. That’s no use to me when there are perfectly acceptable alternatives.

I have to say. The ping combo I’ve found with the red TR tipped an inch is pretty darn good.    I am curious of the 430 when it hits. But only because I’m curious. Lol.

I feel like I probably gave up 10-15 yards max to max but the ping head is so much easier to hit straight , and launch.    The main difference is roll which means spin. The plus head rolled forever.  The g425 max not nearly as much.  Carry for carry it’s a wash.

im not down on TM for the failure.  I know I hit it hard and I know I tend to focus strikes a hair toward the upper part of the face. That makes the top seam vulnerable after a while. I’ve always gone through average or one head failure a season.  That’s happened on ping , TM callaway and once a titleist head.

I am still in the OG SIM and have a backup head.  I tried the SIM 2 as well as the Stealth + and didn't like the feel of either nor did I get better numbers than my gamer.

No two shaft/head combos are perfectly the same.  All the OEMs are not perfect in loft and lie specs - there are tolerance differences from the specs - OEM manufacturing processes are not perfect.  Those players that are in "dialed in" with their current driver and have the ability to notice differences to the next driver, will indeed either feel those differences or identify through launch monitor numbers.

There is a reason that most pros will get/test multiple drivers to test before settling on a gamer when a new model comes out.

Like probably everyone on this thread, I only get one shot at feeling/identifying LM numbers with the next model and it is difficult to beat out the gamer once one is dialed in....

FWIW I have noticed that the players in my area who have had issues with the carbon face used plastic tees and not wood. I don’t like plastic and have always used a reg wood peg. Am a high sw and have had no issues with my stealth+ this year.

Maybe that could be one of the issues with bubbling or the faces debonding? Just my 2 cents. Hopefully someone with more knowledge can chime in.

Mine looks brand new. My friend has one that is bubbling. We both use the plastic tees provided by our club.

I have noticed that the carbon face seems to destroy plastic tees. Much more so than any other driver I’ve played.

More about the range ball than the tee I believe.

The internet is undefeated with leaks. They tried…once…and it made no difference

The ones who signed NDA’s aren’t the ones leaking it.

let’s see the pics!!! Wait, when’s Hero? We will see them there 100%

My face came apart. I used plastic tees a lot, but that was not the reason for my issues.

Mine came apart by using one of those driving range tee holders with a much harder plastic tee that is secured in a rubber tee. The kind that poke through the a hole in a driving range mat if that helps you understand better.

I know this caused my issue as I noticed the face bubbling after each shot. After 5 shots, the damage was done.

I can absolutely believe that hitting range balls would cause debonding of the face. Think of all the cracked heads because of that. The carbon won’t necessarily crack like others. The bubbling seems to be a tee issue though imo
