Very few have said anything close to that.  Many are disappointed….especially in light of past comments from Rahm.  I can understand taking the money.  I would to from my position.  From his position being likely already worth close to $100m….and knowing he’ll make at least $20m or so annually going forward?  He already said he had enough when asked earlier so what changed his mind?  Another $100m?

Unless they come up with a watchable product on TV, I’ll look forward to seeing Rahm in the 4 majors only, because I’m still not sold on the LIV format, the LIV atmosphere, the LIV music on course, the LIV fake team rivalries, and Pat Perez.

I think Rahm has information about how the PGAT/LIV negotiations are going and made the decision in part based on that.   His move made the LIV negotiating position even stronger and that's not good for the tour he just left.

Elite male players.  That includes top amateurs, collegians, and junior players. The pros are just the most annoying. Ruling bodies are in trouble and don't even realize it. PIF is coming for the majors after they own all of professional golf. No Opens, no money.

I think we should let PIF & LIV start a whole new WORLD WIDE GOLF RULING BODY separate from the USGA,  but keep the R&A portions and certain personnel and history since they are the original.

We should also let PIF start a new MAJORS SYSTEM whereby the 4 or 5 majors are in separate countries and continents, one in Europe (not just UK for rotation), Japan, Australia, South Africa and may be the Americas as a whole from North to South.

 

that is the re-alignment we need in golf, with LIV players being also allowed to play wherever the players see fit in their open scheduling

My guess is that Jay Monahan’s betrayal and manipulation of players last year was the deciding factor for Rahm (and he won’t be the last big name).  Once the trust is gone, so are the players.

I am now of the view that a big second tour is a good thing.

I hope with any merger they do keep the tours separate.

 

Used to be the European Tour was muchh better and it was fun seeing the players go over to battle in the 3 other majors.

 

All the best European players left for the money on the PGA Tour, so see no difference in players leaving the PGA Tour for money.

 

The fools in all of this are people like Mcllroy.   He's so entrenched himself and been so outspoken he's going to look a bit dumb when he's begging to join LIV and they don't want him or give him much less money.

That's quite the windfall.

 

TBH I don't know why Tiger didn't take a deal... more money , less hectic schedule.

But half the events are in America, it only has two events in Europe. If they made it a truly global tour and ditched the American side of it, then fair enough.

now we have the pga becoming a feeder for the liv tour

 

if you want to make big dough, get on the pga

 

then if you want to make really big dough, play well on the pga and get invited to play over on the liv tour where you get to become donald duck

 

good for you if your thing is money

 

seriously though, there is no real change in lifestyle if you have 100 m vs 500 m is there? 

 

for me, liv is of no concern, don't care, and not interested

you want to go play there, no issue, go do it, just shut up and get gone

 

lots of good talent waiting for their chance to actually appreciate playing at the highest level

 

and fwiw, I don't want them in ryders or majors either, as they gave that up with their choices

why did they give up majors?  The us open is supposed to be “open.”  The open is “open.”  The masters has criteria which brooks, DJ, bubba, rahm, and others meet.  The pga has the toughest criteria, since it’s mostly dependent on past winners and world ranking points, but it still has criteria set.  
 

under what grounds should they be denied access to these major events which are not run by the TOUR?
