I know, you said it was not on Friday yet it was on Friday on CW.  Tape delayed as you and I noted, but again it was on Friday on TV.

Wow…How far we’ve come. Was checkin out some ping WITBs and just noticed a LIV tour section.  Bet PING prayin VH doesn’t move to this list.

I'm watching "Mr Short game" recap the Desert Open and he is gleefully noting that the event easily eclipsed any LIV event in YT viewers. Like not even close.

Might be a repeat but a search didn't turn it up.  Adrian Meronk's decision to join LIV was influenced greatly by his Ryder Cup snub.  I heard many many players say that leaving him off sent a horrible message, because while everyone kept playing the "you need to support our tour" card for various reasons, he did so, won 3 times, and could not get chosen.  He figured what else can he do, and I don't blame him.  If your fate is really in the hands of someone else like that, then you might as well take the money.

There's quite a bit of irony to this. He joins a tour that markets itself as "golf but louder", then proceeds to get upset at noise-based distractions (and I would too) despite the fact the crowd is laughably small given the prize money at stake and the quality of players present

Meanwhile there's a golf but actually loud event taking place in Phoenix that is everything LIV hopes to be with tens and tens of thousands attending, which is being run by LIV's rival who Rahm just left, and attended by his ASU fanbase

PGAT has NBC, CBS and ABC locked down.

 

Fox tried golf and gave up on it. It was always going to be an uphill battle for LIV to be on TV in the US. I think they have TV deals in other countries.

LIV thought that if you just got players, the people would come. Not necessarily. There is something to be said for established venues and tournaments that were built over time.

LIV really needs the PGA Tour to rescue them. Why would anyone buy the teams when there doesn’t seem to be any hope of LIV ever making money?

Funny given all his nattering about not needing or wanting to play on the PGA anymore, etc. His results show that he was where most guessed, at a point where he could maybe turn it on for the Majors but couldn't compete week-to-week any longer. Would have done his rep a lot more good had he simply admitted that it was about the money instead of stirring the pot and burning every bridge he'd ever built or been pointed towards on the way out.
