Ping 2023 Putters-anyone gaming?

Picked up a Kushin 4 and first impressions are excellent. I really like the PP58-S grip which seems to be fairly new, I think.

The Mundy has me interested but I'm spoiled right now by my Lab Mezz.1 putter. I like the shape and alignment the Mundy uses and the insert feels pretty good. Could be slightly too soft if you use a softer ball though.

Rolled the 2D at the local PGA store…way too soft. The anser feels great, but I’ve already got a Scotty Newport 2 as my main gamer, and the shape is way too similar to justify buying

I really like the Kushin 4.

I have a 2D.  For me, it's insert is a big improvement over the last iteration.  I thought that one was a little too soft.  This one is still a little soft for my personal taste but it is an improvement.

I've been trying to find a Kushin 4 to try in stores, next to no selection in the entire line, must be popular. I did try the Anser and not a fan of that graphite shaft too soft, but that face felt nice.

Rolled the Kushin 4 in the store and am really tempted now. Great feel. Very smooth feeling putter. Like the top line alignment.

Only rolled in store. Attracted to the Tyne G and also tested the Anser. I play a Mizuno M-Craft VI.

 

I enjoyed the look, weight, and mostly the feel with the exception of this tiny tinging sound on contact with harder golfballs. It was unpleasant to me and was enough to know that I will not replace my gamer with it. Still, it fit very well with my sense alignment and pace control. 

 

Regarding tinging, the Anser is worse and louder. Though I believe that the MOI on it is high for an Anser.

I spent a decent amount of time putting with the Kushin 4 and Anser and didn’t notice any “tinging” sound. They are stainless steel with tungsten weighting. There is an audible click, but no weird “ting”. Very solid putter line from Ping.

No doubt a solid putter and you are right about the click in the Anser. But I do hear a ting. I'm just sensitive to that sound and can hear it clearly. I haven't tried the Kushin.

I've got three rounds under my belt with the Kushin 4 and it's staying in the bag. My distance control has been predictably excellent, the ball feels great off the face, and the aiming aids (site line and contrasting top line) really fits my eye.

 

In fact, I like it so much that I've ordered a second. Not to have two identical putters, but because I wanted to change the lie angle to green dot and add a quarter inch in length. I could do that on my own, but... I'm weird and then the putter would always be "altered" and not quite right. My current one will go up on the BST once my new one arrives.

I actually custom ordered mine with the PP58 cord grip, which is one of my favorites. The PP58 S grip would probably be fine, but I like corded grips.

Just purchased the Kushin 4 today and should have it next week. Had my highest putt total in over 5 years, so as much as I liked the look of my custom EVNROLL ER8v (top line), it's gotta go. Not sure if that putter ever recovered from the damage it took during shipping even though I had the loft and lie checked after re-shafting. Oh well, Kushin 4 looks right up alley with the top line and smaller profile.

I still haven't seen a Kushin in store, I did see a LH Tyne 4 and figured I'd roll that cause of the same face. Feel wise to me was a solid medium, not clicky, not mushy it's something I could use. The employee saw me rolling putts and asked me if I needed help. I did ask him if the new Pings have been selling well since there isn't much on the shelf. He said they have been moving pretty well so Ping has something here with this new line.

Just got the Tyne 4.  I have to say, I love the horizontal grooves, have since the Anser Milled line and I am glad Ping brought this back.  The black part of the putter looks a bit cheap, like a DIY job and I wonder if it will come off over time.  Feel is great, not soft but not firm, I like the feedback I am getting and the way the ball rolls off the face is just want I want.  I think it's the pricepoint that keeps these moving along with Pings reputation for putters.  IMO, these are a breath of fresh air while everything else on the rack is $400+.  

 

FWIW, I have also rolled the new W/S putters... also really nice pieces but for the price, I'm going with this Ping all day.

I like the look of the Tyne G and the Shea.  Initially, I ordered the Tyne but cancelled as I'm still torn.  Anyone have experience with the PEBAX insert?  How soft is it and how does it perform?

I rolled it yesterday. I thought it was softer that the Spider X and EX. The alignment lines are excellent for me. I’m thinking about getting one for sure.

I really want to try the 2D but don’t want it to feel too soft.  Like firmer feeling putters.  Really liked the feel of the kushin 4 though.  I’m intrigued.

I'd love to hear some more feedback on the 2D. I haven't seen one in person -- is it roughly the size of something like an Odyssey Tri-Hot 5K Double Wide? 

 

I recently did a putter fitting -- the goal was to get my specs for future putters, since I buy and try clubs like a true WRXer. We settled on me needing a wide blade with a plumber's neck/similar neck and a rear site line (like a Tri-Hot 5K Double Wide, Bettinardi BB8W, etc.). Got length/loft/lie too. 

 

They didn't have the Ping Anser 2D there to try, though. Plus, I'm a lefty, and unfortunately most places have relatively few options for us actually there in person. 

 

I love the way it looks, the 35* toe hang is in line with what I was fitted for, all the specs can be ordered to what I was fitted for ... seems like one I'm gonna end up buying and trying. Just wanted to hear a little more from you all first. How does the insert compare to something like Odyssey's White Hot insert? Any other comparison you all would make to similar style putters?
