Bad Golf Christmas Gifts

As golfers we often get some bad gifts from our loved ones. I thought it might be fun to showcase our bad gifts. Let’s see what you got.

I would love to contribute to this but my family just doesnt go there for gifts. Golf just isn't on their gifting radar....except my mum will sometimes buy a generic polo "to play golf in". Ordinary for golf but casually nice.

The worst is when you get balls like a Top Flight XL, something you'll never use.

The worst one I got had three gag balls in a presentation type tin.  One was exploding, one was a wobbler for putting, and I can't remember what the other one did. 

 

I'm sure it's in a drawer somewhere.

I don't have a picture of it, but without a doubt, the "Ugly Christmas Sweater" a friend gave me for a party. A (badly sewed) golfer lining up a putt, but the golf ball was actually a flashing light (there was a battery in the sweater). Hilarious and gruesome all at the same time.

the worst is when people at work know you like golf and you have secret santa thing for like a $30 limit or something... I got like a 36 pack of Nitros or molitors or something and they thought it was going to be the greatest gift ever getting that many balls for $30.  Saved me a range token one day though.

I get this often. I just use them to hit on the range in my simulator. My net and screen rip the balls up pretty fast anyway so it’s appreciated to get some simulator range rocks.

Received the potty golf set one year from my in-laws who believe everything needs to come from a garage sale.  Let's just say it was well used when I got it and immediately went to the dumpster.

 

I have a lifetime moratorium on all golf gear and just ask for gift cards.

One year, my wife got me one of those fake golf club liquor dispensers.  She thought I'd love it 🤦‍♂️.  After about 2 years of collecting dust in my garage she asked if I was going to put it in my bag.  I had to finally come clean that there was no chance I'd ever put that in my bag and go to a golf course with it.

If you’re on Twitter, check out No Laying Up’s feed. They do this every year on Xmas day and it’s hysterical what some people give as “gifts”.
