Wow, lots of the TSR line being played!

I was in stealth plus the last year, just picked a brand new cobra ltdx ls head and transfered my ventus black 6x over. Great driver, long and more accurate for me. Something about the way it sits at address makes me feel like I can't miss.

I’ve had the same ST 190G for the last few years. Not going anywhere. There’s only so many clubs where I can put both weights next to each other in the max draw setting. I know it’s a hacker move but it fits my swing.

Well I went back and tested the TSR line against my TS3.  First test,  I was consistently hitting the middle of the club face and the results were very similar between all the heads (did not test TsR4).  2nd test,  I could not find the middle of the club face if I tried and the TSR2 proved to be the best for me.  Ball speed stayed pretty consistent and spin stayed lower compared to the TS3 and TSR3.  Dispersion was tighter as well.

Went on the hunt and found a 9 degree TSR2 on the BST yesterday.  I look forward to giving it a go this year.  Will keep stats to see if fairway hit percentage goes up and Strokes gained.

Just traded my 6 year old Ping 400 max for a Ping 430 SFT praying its not a mistake. All the numbers were better inside for the SFT but inside is not where it counts. I am in Michigan it will be a couple months before the snow is gone here. Going to Alabama in two weeks will try it there fingers crossed.

My bad, the numbers were all better for the 430 SFT than the Max inside or I would not have made the trade.

I have always been scared to trade what I know is really good (e.g., G400) until I know that I will never return to it.  That is never at the golf shop, because first it was off mats/monitor/not in real play and second it could have been a magical day in the bay like so:

I am emotionally and financially vulnerable in those sort of situations to what I would call launch monitor queens.

So hats off for committing!  Still have my G400 and it still rocks with a ventus blue, but another driver is on duty in its stead.  It is my first backup.

Most likely still GBB Epic. I'm hitting that with pretty much perfect numbers all around. I never buy new so really only something used under $200 could beat it out. I hit that paradyme yesterday and did not get along with it. I think the no weight in the sole messed with it. Hit all really low shot when my flight is 100-120ft high with my driver.

I went to a fitting event and man that Paradym with a Kaili 60S knocked the king off it's throne. Not sure I'm getting one new though.

I’m down to two finalists for this year — and they’re very different, but in their own ways they accomplish some of the same things for me.

1. TSR3 8* with a Graphite Design Tour AD UB or a Diamana TB.

I should be a TSR2 guy. I even had one for a bit. But the 3 with weight in the toe is just magic for me. For whatever reason, I’m just really, really consistent with it. It calms down the hooks I’d sometimes get with the 2, and certainly it’s not as forgiving on paper but it does seem to forgive *my* miss.

The other thing here is that it’s hard to get an 8 degree (turned down to 7.25) head for lefties. I’m a +6 AoA guy but I seem to do best with blue shaft profiles, and the 8 degree TSR3 head keeps my launch down enough to let me play the shafts that suit my swing best without having to worry about absurd peak heights.

Also, this driver is beautiful-looking.

…or…

2. G430 Max 9* at flat -1* with a Ping Tour 2.0 Black 65S

I have one on the way. The -1 flat setting on Ping drivers with the weight in the toe is another awesome anti-hook set-up. It worked well to help me move my start line a bit on the G425, and I’m hoping for the same with this one.

Once they’re both here, I’ll do a lot of head-to-head tests and then decide.

Driver: Ping G430 LST 9* | Fujikura Ventus TR Blue 6X

3W: Ping G430 Max @14* | Fujikura Speeder NX Blue 70X

7W: Ping G430 Max @20* | Graphite Design Tour AD DI 8X (or sometimes G430 3H with Tour 2.0 Chrome 85S)

4 Utility: Ping iCrossover @23.5* | Graphite Design Tour AD DI 95X (or sometimes G430 5H at 25* with Tour 2.0 Chrome 85S)

Irons: Ping i230 5-UW | Fujikura AXIOM 105X

Wedges: Callaway Jaws Raw 54/12W@55/13W, 60/12X | Nippon Modus 125 Wedge

Putter: Bettinardi 2024 BB1 Wide
