What driver are you gaming for the 23' season?

Upgraded to TSR3 (from TSi3) last fall.  There must have been a glitch in Dick's system, b/c the upgrade to VA Drago was only $50.    The combo has been awesome, no need to look at new drivers this year.

IN: Titleist TSr3 9.0 at B4 setting with HZRDUS Smoke Black Stiff

OUT: Ping G400 Max 9.0 at "--" setting with Atmos Tour Spec Red Stiff

Side note: I loved my G400 Max. Loved it. Has been in my bag since a year after it came out. But the Titleist, I can already tell, will be in my bag just as long. It's everything I loved about the G400 Max ("point and shoot," forgiving) and the sound is much, much, much better. AND, the Titleist seems to spin less, so it's 3 to 7 yards(?) longer. Bonus!

I already waffled and went to a TSi2 😲 from the 430 Max.  Better overall feel and sound to me.  430 Max is longer (and it's easy to get that distance) but I like the overall feel/performance of the TSi2 which has me wanting a TSr2 😅

Did the same last spring but went from Ping G425 Max to TSi3. Distance gain was staggering.

Haywood should be here in a couple weeks.

I really enjoyed the PXG 0211. The Sim 2 Max has been good, but I only have a few rounds with it

LTDx worked out quite well last year, so it will have a shot for this year as well, but going to try out with 2 different shafts, because why not.  Picked up a Rogue ST Max LS this week and will be giving it a shot as it's a head I've wanted to try out for a bit.

Won't be apple to apple as they are different lofts and will be trying out different shafts.  But I also don't want apples to apples because, bleh...

10.5* LTDx w/ stock 60S Hzrdus Blue, 60X Hzrdus Blue, Ventus Red 6X

9* Max LS w/ 75S AV Raw White, KK Proto and want to get my hands on a Tensei 1k 50X

If all else fails, the steady TSi2 9* with AV Raw Blue 65TX will make another appearance.

sticking with tm m5T but will shorten his other older driver to test out the effect...JP thinks his driver is 1/2" too long....

I still need to do a little more testing but I am really liking the Red right now. Particularly I need to get the Black on the course. Both are 6X, TR Black is not tipped, TR Red is tipped 1/2” and I’m thinking of tipping an additional 1/2”.

TR Black feels very stable at impact where the TR Red feels a little less stable which was why I’m contemplating doing another 1/2” on it to see if it tightens things up some. In general, I prefer the feel of the Red over the Black.  The Black seems to be noticeably right biased where the Red was giving me a pretty consistent high draw. A buddy of mine who does everything he can to fight a hook tried the Red out and it just wanted to go left for him no matter what he did. I’m more of a straight ball hitter with driver and didn’t have any issues. If you fight a hook miss, the red might not be the best fit.

Surprisingly spin and launch were actually lower with the Red than the Black. (Although I did see multiple you tube reviews that also had the Red launching and spinning lower than black) See numbers below from a session on the GC Quad.

Thanks for posting, as you mentioned the Red produces lower launch and spin for a lot if testers.

It would certainly be interesting to see what happens if you were to tip the red a bit more

I don't even look at new drivers anymore.  My middle of the fairway finding, looong, PXG Gen4 is staying in the bag.

This right here! I have not tried another driver since I got my Gen4. My only issue is going back and forth between the DI and VR shafts.

Haven't bought it as yet as I just completed testing on course with a few models but the winner for me is the Ping G430 Max with the Tour 2.0 Chrome shaft S flex and put on the F O setting.  Pretty much straight to a baby draw with it and gained significant yards.  Stealth wasn't much longer but it also was more difficult to control than the Ping.  Also, the Ping shaft had the right weight and feel for me which is my own personal view and not reflective of what others may experience.

After getting back into golf after a like 15 year stint started last year with PXG 0211 9* based purely off of price really liked it but sold it to my younger brother that wanted to get into the game in favor of a Cobra LTDx 9*. Have had some troubles matching up to the Cobra flight wise being very low and susceptible to big left and right hits despite many settings changes. Got to hit a few current model clubs this year and landed on base Stealth 2 with stock ventus red launches the ball quite well.

Call me crazy but although I started the season with a g430 max….it just didn’t work for me and so I’m going back to my fav driver of all time, in terms of how we get along anyways, my sim 2 max. Happy to be back to a driver that works well for me but sad I couldn’t get the g430 going. Really loved everything about it! I’ve tried every Ping driver since the g400 max and haven’t had any success unfortunately.
