Golf pants for bigger thighs

Recommended Posts

Anyone have recommendations for good loose-fitting golf pants, particularly in the thigh/butt area? I'm ideally looking for straight or boot cut.

Basically I've been hitting the gym consistently over the past few years and have grown out of everything I own. My go-to Lululemon ABC pants (classic fit) were always on the snugger side, but now they're skin-tight and unwearable. Same thing with the Adidas stuff I have. I just left Golf Galaxy and tried on seven or so different pairs, basically anything that wasn't labeled slim fit, and all but one was similarly tight af in the thighs/butt. There was a Nike option that wasn't terrible, but still tight for my liking.

What are y'all bigger-thigh people wearing these days?

Former power lifter so big thighs and calfs. The best fitting shorts and pants I’ve found for me are from Haggar. As a bonus they are also reasonably priced.

Former strength sport athlete here with just dumb quad size, I've found Haggar as well to fit and pretty cheap just go to a tailor, get them hemmed and perfect.

Callaway isn't too bad maybe the smallest I'd take for my quads but I don't think others would have the same issue.

I do have a pair of Bonobos but the waist is way too big and the fit oddly works so not sure where I'd put them.

PM I haven't tried the pants, I do have a few pairs of shorts that I'm hoping to fit into soon and they are basically painted on the quads.

Bottom line is gotta find something with stretch to them or a very generous cut that needs some tailoring.

I have large thighs as well.  Under Armour pants  (NOT the match play ones...those have a slimmer fit) fit me well.  I also bought a pair of pants  from Aveo.  They have an awesome fit.  Very roomy.

Not sure what your budget is.  Amazon Basics  aren't bad for the price as long as you get the right fit (obviously not slim fit) in their golf pants. They have the silicone around the waist band too to keep your shirt tucked in.

Great topic, and something I struggle with in all pant categories whether it be athletic, dress, or casual.

I have a slim waist but big a** and quads.  The struggle is real, especially when I want a slim fit and tapered leg.  It usually means buying a much bigger waist which then bunches up unfortunately because it's too big.

I have tried the Bonobos athletic fit and they're not bad, but would prefer a slightly more tapered leg.  I have a few Adidas 365 pants and I like the cut, but again had to buy a slightly bigger waist to make it work.

Appreciate the suggestions in this thread so far.

If you like the Bonobos Athletic Fit but want more taper, a tailor should be able to help.  Same with the Adidas and the waist size.

This week as the weather has finally gotten warm, I've come to realization that I am now fat and no longer fit into my 34x34 (all styles, Puma, UA, Cutter & Buck), they are super tight around my big thighs. First I went to Dicks and tried on 4 different 36x34 styles, Nike, Adidas, Walter Hagen (slim) and Under Armour (iso-chill tapered). Out of those, I definitely liked UA and Walter Hagen the best, both fit and style. Going from 34 to 36 definitely freed up the thighs. Hated the nikes, and the Adidas waist band just seems a bit weak/flimsy I guess I would say, I do like Adidas shorts though.

Didn't like the color options nor didn't want spend full price so I online ordered 36x34 Puma Jackpot (not the 5 pocket) for under $50 each, they came in yesterday and were way too baggy and long. Maybe the 5 pocket jackpot would be a bit better.

So now ordering two pairs from Under Armour for $125 total. UA Tech and UA Match Play, both tapered. Anyone know the difference between these, and also the UA Drive? I did buy a pair of UA Drives last year and really loved them actually, now have to sell them as I've outgrown them.

This ^^^^^^^ I have several pairs of the Cool Pro Pants and shorts. Like Matt said, inexpensive and that helps when having to get them tailored

I'm 6'3" about 310 lbs and have thick thighs/calves. I've had great success with 32degrees pants. I wear them every day for work and on the course. I wear the Woven Stretch Pants but they also have a 5 pocket too if that's more your style.

My month long journey is finally over, I've found the winner for my fat thighs.

Bonobos Highland Tour Pant ($150 retail, $128 with 15% first purchase code). Specifically - Slim Tapered fit. And I also tried on the Athletic and Slim fit. Slim Tapered is perfect, enough room for the thighs, and stylish great fit like the Lululemons. The Lulus were almost perfect, and probably the superior fabric, but the 34 length was perfect, but any shrinking and they would turn into floods on me, and my friends said that they have shrunk a little.

I haven't played a round in the Bonobos yet but the fit and feel is terrific, wonderful quality.

Has anyone tried the fabletics pants?

Yup. My wife loves that brand so I added the ONE slim fit pant to her cart to try out. I’m short (5’7) with thick thighs and calves from a lifetime of hockey. Fabletics came in the perfect length (no hemming) and the perfect cut yet slim taper at the bottom. Unicorn pant for my frame. Now if they’d just get the short lengths back in stock.
