I feel you.  It’s hard to not want more with so many good options out there.  Although your all Ping bag is pretty sick at the moment.

What sets the i230 apart from most irons is the consistent flight window and spin I keep seeing…. Over and over and over again.

I’m also seeing the same with the king tours that does not get mentioned as often.  The MIM’s were the same.  I kept noticing really good ball speed, but the consistency in distance and spin was incredible.  The King Tours seem to be following that same trend.  Pretty unique iron that will not get as much attention as it deserves.

Yea, I agree. The i230 consistency is unreal and likely unbeatable. I do prefer the head shape of the King Tours and overall look at address so I'll see how it goes. The time I've spent on the GCQuad shows pretty impressive consistency for spin. The launch is not quite as consistent for me at the moment. Luckily I love to tinker 😂

What shafts did you fit into? The stock option ended up best for me…

I was hitting w/ both the KBS $ Tour Lite and another was the Modus x flex. Both were pretty similar, maybe x flex was a little tighter dispersion.

In case others are looking for comparisons, I took my Bridgestone J15CB 9 iron in to compare the head to the King Tour. They are very close in size. The King Tour has a touch shorter blade length. The Cobra has more grooves, I actually like fewer grooves like the J15, but no big deal. (Hey OEMs, let’s hit pause on any more grooves!) I prefer the hosel/top line transition on the Cobra. Very clean.

The soles are similar in width too but again the Cobra is slightly more narrow. (In this photo it is harder to fully see the trailing edge of the J15CB). Given the iconic popularity of the J15CB I thought it would be helpful for those wondering about the relative size of the Tours.

My bet is the Tours will play a lot like the J15CB, which is high praise, but with the benefit of a wider area of the face retaining ball speed. For my sporadic frequency of getting on a course, that is an attractive recipe. They definitely feel just as wonderful. At the same time, I also would not hesitate to go CB in the scoring irons. They’re a little smaller than the Tours but they’re not scary. The MB and CB are off the charts in looks. Beautiful heads and the finish is perfect.

Since the Forged Tecs are coming out in black, is it reasonably safe to assume these lines will as well (guessing next year at this time)? Auto-buy if so...

Never have been into the black iron heads. To me the satin finish on the King lineup is perfect. Very elegant.

I have a fitting on Tuesday with the King Tours, I've casually hit them already and they're just what I'm looking for.  Moving on from my CB/MB combo.  Time for a little more forgiveness😁

Has anyone compared the Tours to the Ping i230 irons?

I just had my second fitting today.  After the last fitting the order for me was Ping i230, MP223 and the King Tours.  I wanted to give the Tours another try as I was hitting them in a +1 inch shaft and normally I am a +.5 inch.  It came down to the Pings and the Cobras and the Cobras won out.   I was looking for distance consistency, descent angle and forgiveness.  I was leaning toward the pings because of all the talk of consistency.  The cobras were as better for me.  The bonus was that they looked better at address and felt so good.  I went in today thinking it was ping hands down but they were flaring a little bit for me.  I’m looking forward to giving these a try this season.  I have never gamed a Cobra club but these changed my mind.

Congrats. I had the i230s and sold them. Now I have the King Tours and I’m keeping them. Two top-notch irons but the King Tours are a better overall fit for me. I also found them easier to square up than the 230 and more workable. I am more comfortable with the King Tours’ size and look from address, plus there is just enough tech to offer some noticeable mishit forgiveness.

Feel is as good as it gets. Mishits don’t suffer a lot of yardage loss. You definitely get feedback — you know if you middled it or not — but off-center contact is not harsh.

Extended range session today with the King Tours. If you’re a player who is looking for clubs in this category, these definitely are worth a look. Great flight, go where I’m looking, and the feel on middled shots makes the game worth playing. The lateral forgiveness is noticeable. I’ve got a stock 4-P set with KBS $ Taper 120g stiff shafts, which are great for tight dispersion in the short irons but feel a little heavy in the 4 and 5.

I was pleased that I was able to hit the 4 iron well but it’s a little low and I could see something like a Fuji 95 working better or 1 degree weaker loft or both. I had been pondering the Forged Tec in my longest iron. May not be necessary.

They have a strong flight and really play a lot like my Bridgestone J15CBs, only more forgiving on off-center hits.

Any new feedback on the King Tours? I just grabbed a set that happened to be delivered 3 days after we had our first child, so naturally I haven’t been able to try mine out yet. Hoping to live vicariously through others!

My set of King Tours arrived last week and I finally had a chance to take them out this weekend.  I'm thoroughly impressed with them.

I'm coming from a set of 716 CB with KB Tour 90S shafts.  My 7i was going 158.

New King Tour with Modus 105S, -1° -1/4" 7i going 162.  I was quite happy with my distances to being with, so didn't want anything too jacked.  Was mostly looking for a little bit of forgiveness on those off center hits.

These feel great, as good as my previous Titleist set.  They are noticeably bigger, but it isn't a huge amount.  I was looking at 223, T100, and i230's.  These looked the best behind the T100.

Very happy with the pickup and looking forward to some low scores!

I also play the j15s. Can you take a side by side of the 4 or 5 irons?  I’m curious how the long irons look. The j15s are basically the perfect iron for me but these do look close.

Always happy to help my fellow wrxers. Here are pics of 5 irons — PXG Gen 5 P, King Tour and J15CB. King Tour is in the middle. J15 is one with no ferrule as I am doing some shaft testing so just used a loose shaft for photos.
