Seems like a lot of pros like to use what's familiar and doesn't seem leather grips are familiar for many of them.

Tops out at low 190's ball speed.  It's a little strange seeing that he plays a higher lofted head with a Ventus Red which tells me he's a low ball hitter.  However, the kid has all the talent in the world.  Also, as a fellow Korean, I got nothing but love for the guy.

He plays at my club, awesome talent and good friends with his coach!

The red actually works for him the opposite with the way he delivers the club at impact.

although he’s now made the change to Ventus Blue.

He has it turned down -1* and those S heads are really small, probably super low launch, low spin knuckler.

His shot on 12 during the third round was wild to me. 172mph ball speed with that same 3-iron...

Me too. 

I used to play DGX100, and found the profile of the Modus 120 to be completely different. Like apples and oranges. I could never get comfortable with the 120s.

 

And then there's the weight difference. Wouldn't the Modus shafts be at least 10g lighter?

 

Very interesting combination, and obviously it works for him.
