Never really considered these but seems like they are a nice wedge. For those playing how do you like them?

Vastly underrated because the entry price was too high....  IMHO.

I love mine.  They are soooooo good around the greens.

Now that the price is on par with others....they should get more love me thinks....

Just received my set (50, 54@55, 60) and love them so far, prefer the shape over the Vokeys I had, they blend better with my I230 irons.

Playing i230’s myself and that’s what had me looking. I do like the set U wedge though.

Love the shaping. Ping's standard sole seems to work for me every time I've tried it. Switched from a fitted set of Vokey SM9's. I just like the shaping on the Glides a bit better for whatever reason. I also like the stock shaft and grip. I am interested to try the TS sole in the 60 at some point.

Companys need to chill the f out on prices on some stuff. People want to afford stuff not skip and find a cheaper option. Wedges need to go back to $140 when you need 2 standard. Specially if you bought some irons and or a driver and or a putter. Give a break somewhere. The i59 which i had... were wayyyy over priced and hurt themselves with initial sales because of it. So whats the plan hike the prices at the start rhen let people wait 2 3 years for them to fall to regular price? Wierd. Id just put them priced normal or slightly below and sell more. We all know companys make things as cheap as they can then try to make top dollar. So i dont want to hear the materials cost alot bs.

Then don’t pay. Don’t hand over your money. Just to turn around a complain about it. When it could have been avoided. Golf equipment isn’t a “must need” or “have to have”. And if there is a situation that becomes “must need” or “have to have”. I’m sure there are ways going about not paying full price and get gouged.

I feel its more dumb on the companys side then the consumer. Most average buyers will buy a set and keep a long time unless your not the average and a club ho like us. So for the average its ok and makes sense but the ho ppl is who it hurts and ultimately i think hurts the companys unless im missing something. I know how it works... their's no gun to anyones head to keep buying i agree.

First time poster on Golfwrx.

I demoed these on Saturday along with RTX6 and SM9 - and ordered the Glide 4's.

Feel wise there wasn't much difference for me, but I'm not that sensitive to it.  I liked the head shape of the Glide 4's and the shaft options Ping offers (went with KBS Tour),and I'm hitting i210 irons so there is something in that 🙂Their known performance i the wet was also a factor.

I'm also a lefty, and really pleased that Ping are now offering a sensible range of grind and bounce options for me 🙂

I prefer the 3.0 also, but I have both.... the 3.0 in 58-14 just looks better in the sole that the 4.0. I have used the 52 & 58 for years, and have worn 5 of them out. I also have the 62 Forged Glide Pro that I love out of the bunkers and short sided shots.

I've come from Vokeys (D grinds) in stock wedge flex to a 54 Glide 4.0 SS stock steel. I'm experimenting with the Ping because of the wet weather performance as I play a decent chunk of rounds in early mornings with dew and play year round in Ca. I also liked that they would probably be slightly more forgiving and more durable groove wise. I liked the shape of the Ping. The feel is much firmer which is taking a bit of time to get used to. Hopefully I get there but not sold on the feel yet. The launch and spin on full and partial shots are excellent and the wet weather performance is no joke. Where I am struggling with the wedge is generating consistent short game shots around the green. I don't know if its shaft weight versus the vokey or the grind on the wedges but I'm having a tough time getting consistent shots with the Ping. I can go back and pick up the Vokey and hit 5 identical chips or pitches (same spin and launch). I'm going to spend more time working with the Ping but I suspect I'm going to need a grind or shaft switch to make a better comparison with the Vokey. The Ping is clearly quality but just shows that proper wedge fitting is very important unless your an expert already.

What shaft is in your irons? The ping stock shaft is fairly light for a wedge at 115 grams.

Are they much better than the 3.0? Looking to replace my Ping eye 2 BeCu LW. I see  the 3.0/4.0 both have eye 2 wedges... Any real difference? I believe I read the 4.0 may be lighter...

Is the TS grind really very different on the 4.0 than previous wedges?

I bought an old tour gorge to play with and I love the TS grind on it. I been kicking around a Glide 4.0 thin sole.

I believe they use a softer metal with the 4.0..

I play the 3.0 58 eye2 wedge. It has improved my short game a lot especially out of the sand. I found a 3.0 eye2 54 wedge last week to my specs and I am looking forward to playing it this week.

I was ready to pull the trigger on the 4.0 eye2's . The 3.0 54 popped up for sale so I thought I'd save some money and stick with them a while.

I demoed the Glide 4s when I got the Glide Forged Pro 54S and 60T.  They're a little larger and rounded than my previous T20 and struggled with them in the sand here.  They're very consistent on fuller swings and around the greens, especially in the wet.  I'm also more a fan of Callaway wedges than Vokey if that better indicates my preferences.

Look at the half moon grind. I come in shallow but like "some" bounce. I use the half moon in the Glide Pro 60 (at 59)

Agreed. Have been chipping with a 48* set wedge. Just bought and course tested a 52* glide 4.0 S12 and it helped me hop over bunkers easily with less roll out. Knowing that it had hydropearl finish swung my decision. Opening the face looks great and does the job. Key point is I got the nippon steel shaft instead of Alta. The swing weight was D2 which is why it fit great into my swing that I had used with the D2 set wedge. Local golf shop had it used for $100 and the face was near mint no marring.

I've tried various 4.0s and like the 3.0s better.  For me the turf interaction seems better on the 3.0s.  The trajectory of the 4.0s were lower for me as well.
