New Adams Idea driver, fairway wood, hybrid + Adams C-Groove putters

Curious as well.  The original was top notch, but the ones towards the end were not.  Kind of reminds me the original Rife putters to the company that has them now (not talking EVNROLL).

Anyone know if they do customization? It may be on the site and I just overlooked it. 

I'd love to give the fairway or hybrid a try, but not with a 45gram shaft...

Not sure I’d classify this as killing off the brand but a rebirth. This a first pass at attracting the more casual golfer. Most of the newer golfers have never heard of Adams, but this allows them to get solid equipment at a good price. I’d bet anything that Adams will evolve over time to grow along with the golfers that they are attracting.

I got thoughts too.

 

Adams used to make some good stuff and had some bits of tech that got gobbled up (that face slot thing on the sole being one).  I seem to recall that that piece of tech was what lead TM into buying Adams.  I could well be wrong though.

 

They made some stellar irons as well.  Sort of like Cleveland and Bridgestone to an extent, they make good solid clubs but they are just not super marketable.  Seen as "old man clubs" in most circles.

 

I am very curious how they think this direct to consumer thing is going to work out for them.  It didn't work out well for Ben Hogan golf, another company with more than solid clubs at less than typical retail prices that just didn't find its place in the market.

 

Is there really demand for that price point between "store line" type clubs/sets and upper end clubs?  Would I want to spend $299 on a new driver without bells and whistles or spend $250 on a TM or Titleist or Callaway used driver 2-3 years old?

Hoping they would come with a modern version of the 1st iteration Idea Pro hybrid. The woods look really good though. Face gives me an original TE exotics vibe.

Those crowns might be the classiest looking club released this year or in a few years actually.  I'm a sucker for dark grey\silver and black though.

Titleist tsr is probably the closest.

 

However, the bottoms leave something to be desired.  I understand the nostalgia and recognition of the yellow, but... Yuck.

The toe hang for the Mission putter is 0 degrees (faced balanced) and the Prospect is 43 degrees in case you were wondering.

Well they took a profitable brand. And made it not profitable. Then subsequently stopped releasing products under that umbrella….

Hoping they offer putters with a sight dot instead of a line in the cavity, as a custom option. 

 

As an aside, they should also resurrect Yes! as their putter brand. I still see a few Yes! putters in play and the brand has a lot more kudos and bag appeal that Adams, who are not known for their short game clubs.

Yeah it is. Why would I pay for a cutter, new grip, etc when I can just wait and order the size I want lol. Seems pretty simple to me.

I ❤the Yes C-grooves, one of the best feeling and accurate putter faces. Use to own the Victoria putter, that was money back in the days.

Might consider a 5 or 7 wood for the nostalgia value. They look good. I still a black super hybrid that makes it to the course from time to time.

 

Do the hybrid shafts seem long to anyone else? 39 inches for a 30°?
