Odd. Yeah, not seeing a 60-04-T. May need to reach out to them if you're in the market! I noticed they don't carry a S200 as well for customs. But then again, if you're custom ordering, you probably wouldn't play stock "wedge flex" shafts. Just a thought!

If that’s the new vokey I’m not a fan. Looks too similar to a Cleveland for me and I’d just buy that instead. Think I’ll get some backup cut price sm9 instead as they’re gorgeous.

For anyone wanting raw vokeys for the same price a retail off the rack wedges buy the flat black (also raw) and soak then in white vinegar for a couple days..

I have the black ones with a "raw" shaft label but it hasn't really rusted.

Top - was black, but got worn around the edges so I vinegared it.
Bottom - black pre use, now starting to wear, so it'll get the same treatment.

And if you want them to rust? Well I'm afraid you might be disappointed, because these seem to not like rusting, even when raw. Which I like personally.

 When I was fitted, the fitter told me SMX was the plan but Apple would file some kind of lawsuit. Don’t know if correct, but what I was told

I've done this before. Not sure if I got the mix wrong but I RUINED a pretty clean set of black SM8's. Metal was pitting like crazy, chips here and there, etc. Almost like the mix ate away at the metal - and I didn't soak them for more than a few hours. Not saying it isn't possible, but i've had more luck getting actual raw wedges to rust by using a spray bottle that's 80% White Vinegar, 20% Hydrogen Peroxide, and a pinch of sea salt. Spray, leave for 15 mins, lightly re-coat, repeat. Someone else may have better advice as well, but honestly I really prefer the natural patina of just leaving them in the bag.

Working in the industry I hear a lot of people say “Titleist is only for good players”.   Thst may have been true 15 years ago.  
 

But I challenge anyone to find the T350 not playable for any level.   And the TSR2 is up there with any driver in terms of forgiveness.  
 

I’m looking forward to getting the SM10 in hand.   My 9’s are starting to looose some bite.

Just did this yesterday, soaked for 5 hours, scotchbrite pad, 1000 grit sandpaper, and some steel wool.

Software company? I'm not a trademark lawyer, but far as I know, that means they definitely could have called them SMX if they wanted to, they would hardly be infringing on a software company with a golf club.

 

There's also "Super Motor X" just as an example.

You are correct, you’d just have to prove that a consumer could reasonably differentiate the two items.

I’m not a lawyer by any means either. But that is what I’ve heard that SMX was trademark protected.  I don’t know anything about the legality of those things.

Unless there's another golf company with the trademark, it would have been a non issue.

 

I wonder if they didn't go with SMX because the Cobra Snakebite X exists, that'd be my guess.

 

Or, they just didn't like Elon Musk's rebranding of Twitter 😅

So the Black SM9 is not rusting? I wanted those and went with the tour chrome since I didn’t want rust. But I really like the black more

Mine aren't, not even the one that's stripped.

 

I know they're meant to, but I've not seen it yet.

 

Before I stripped the top one, I read a thread where someone was saying there's some kind of coating on the metal that makes them less prone to rusting or something? There was someone who was trying to make them rust deliberately that was struggling to make them rust too.

 

My criticism of the black would be that it doesn't last well at all.

Here are my black sm9 that I used vinegar to strip. Played them for 2 seasons now. I have a brand new set of raw sm8 a that will replace them this year in the same grinds.

I really wanted the brushed that’s my favorite finish. But that wasn’t in my local golf shop when I got my tour chrome.

I had one of those, and sold it to a buddy of mine.

 

For some reason that finish didn't sit well with me, prefer the black, or raw finishes
