Yep, I was playing the 588 before, and they were so good!!   I played them for several years. 

 

Flashback, humble brag moment:  I was part of the Adizero trip to TaylorMade where we got to play in the Farmers Pro Am.   Our Pro was Sean O'Hair.  While we were standing around one of the greens, he saw my 588 56* and asked if he could give it a try.    He dropped a few balls and hit some chips with it.   He said that is a fantatic feeling wedge.   I really really like it.   If he had asked me for it right there on the spot, who was Ito say no 🙂

We also got fit for the R1 driver on that trip.   Of the what has to be close to hundreds of clubs I have sold in the 10 years since that trip, I still have it.  It and a never comprise putter are the two oldest clubs I own 🙂

Interesting to know. I keep looking at the T grind and wondered how they could play that with 4° bounce. I asked Vokey if they could make me a K grind with 10° bounce and they said I could only get a 6° through wedgeworks. It sits in my trunk. I should toss it. It the worst wedge I've ever hit. Its like a carving knife. even in really firm conditions.

FWIW I dont think I ever play a shot with my T grind with a square face, its opened up almost everytime even shots I know that are going to dig.

FWIW I dont think I ever play a shot with my T grind with a square face, its opened up almost everytime even shots I know that are going to dig.

I like to use the bounce and 4* just doesn't do it for me.  They should have a higher bounce option, especially if they make it already.

Yea others have mentioned that would be just the V grind which I tend to agree with as it has a similar grind but has more camber thus bounce on the leading edge. 

 

Others have tried bending it weak which is what I did with my spare bending it from 58 to 60.

 

I have no clue about a tour only T grind with 9* bounce. If that much is added it aint a T grind no more imo.

the tour guys are not playing 9* bounce on T-grinds- see correct information in response to that comment

I am hoping this sm10 has a little bit of the microgrooves or ping rainx. I switched from MG3 to sm9's this year, love the swing weight and a few things on them but there is def something ping, cleveland, TM are doing that i am hoping titleist incorporates.

I tried an RTX 6 and Full Face yesterday for the first time, indoors with the face taped, but was impressed by how nice they felt.

 

So now I've got to choose between RTX, MG4, SM10 and the new Pings

Sounds like a tough place to be.  In 17 years of golfing, I’ve never owned anything except Vokey.  Call me loyal (or dumb).

 

Looking forward to SM10, although I don’t expect anything revolutionary.  I love the feel.  May consider stepping out of the M grind for the 56 and 60 this year, need to do some testing.

I did a test in the Milled Grind thread with the MG4s, Cobra Snakebites, Mizuno S23s, and my SM9s, and the Vokeys are honestly the best all rounder I think.

But I really like the MG4s, the RTXs are great, and I have a soft spot for a Ping wedge because my old fave was a Ping Tour 54. 

 

I don't really need new wedges this season, but need and want are two different things lol

T grinds are 4* none of them are 9*. If you are referring to the WW ones with the proto stamp ones on tour with the white painted 9 stamp on them that’s for the Darrell Survey to get them counted as SM9’s

Played the red saw oil cans until i got the raw sm8’s. Like how the finish wears on the oil cans over the black finish but the pure raw tops them all. Other wedges might spin more but the options and consistency makes vokey the best imo.
