The Graphite Design VF has stolen the show this year if only because they have never had anything to compete against the Ventus (Black). There will be much more interest in the VF vs the new Ventus.

It's mainly stolen the show because Tiger has it in the bag.  It doesn't hurt that it's one hell of shaft.  I doubt it'll gain as much traction as the Ventus Black or DI, however, it's already made it's mark especially with the Japanese players.

FYI I contacted JDs Clubs and he stated he was not picking up the new Ventus line. Not sure why but that's what he said for now.

I currently game Ventus Blue TR 6S. Love it and hitting bombs, but I’m quite interested in the new Ventus Blue 5X. Specs seem very similar and if it holds, probably can pick up a few mph of club head speed with almost 10g lighter shaft! Averaging 107mph currently.

Not impressed with the new Fujikura shaft.  Appears to be nuances from my Ventus Velo TR Blue.  

 

To that point, last weekend I put away Ventus Velo TR Blue, and pulled my ole trusty "Tour Issue Fujikura Fuel Tour Spec 60 "S", set at D3, and playing length of 44.5".  Didn't think I had the juice to make this high bend shaft work.  Surprisingly, on a challenging 6400yd+ course where driving the ball was a necessity, walked off 18 feeling pretty damned good about an old shaft that had been in mothballs since original Ventus was introduced. 

 

Sometimes great is great regardless of... 🙂

 

There's no loosey goosey to the shaft.  I just feel more comfortable with a high bend shaft so extend myself.  Maybe the extra gym visits helped me rise to the occasion. 😛  don't know.

Can you pinpoint what you didn’t care for, specifically? Also I’m assuming you tested the 6S?

Didn't actually test the shaft, just reviewed the shaft's specs, and found them too close to my TR Blue.   I have 2 Red and 2 Blue fujikura shafts, including original and TR.  IMO, because of similarities, the new shaft in my hands, isn't going to offer any improvement.  Of the 3 blue shafts, TR fits me better because it has a stiffer butt of the 3, thus fits my fast tempo and transition.

 

The new Blue has a firm butt, and so does the original Blue.  However, TR Blue has a stiffer butt at 82, but not as stiff as my older Tour Spec at 78.

 

Original Blue is 65g, has 93 tip and 85 butt.

New Ventus Blue 65.5g has 95 tip and 86 butt

TR Blue 68g has 94 tip and 82 butt

 

My 2013 Fuel Tour Spec 65g has 95 tip and 78 butt is closer to Ventus TR Black.

 

Edit; do a spreadsheet, factor in your actual experience with said shafts, and see what shows up.

Got fit at True Spec yesterday in Chicago and the 2024 Ventus Blue with the QI 10 head beat out my ping g430 max Ventus TR Blue combo.  I’ve smoothed out my swing over the last few months and was having a hard time trying to control TR Blue. I either wouldn’t swing hard enough to activate the shaft or would swing too hard. I had some less then stellar strike points during the fit and the results were still impressive ball speeds and dispersion. Going from the Ventus TR Blue 6x to the new blue in a 6S has me super excited for this golf season and to make the game more fun to play. Great shaft and can’t wait to get into a groove with it this year.

Tr blue 6x to 6s 2024 blue is quite a bit softer but glad the change worked out for you. Would be helpful if you had hit the OG blue as well in the new setup. Otherwise this just means your old setup wasnt a great fit.

Hopefully some reviews start to drop this week. Not sure why Fuji would want a hold on reviews for this shaft. You’d think the hype would drive up sales…

What was your SS during the fitting?

Oh it for sure wasn’t a great fit. I put the ping head on the tr that was fitted. So 50% of the setup was fitted lol.

Fuji should begin shipping in the next week. I have one coming to pair up with the Qi 10. I expect it to look good and play great 🤞. I have had great results with the Ventus Velocores since the original release!
