Yep, that’s what he said last night.  The logo designer was in the crowd last night and Tiger called him out when they were discussing that the logo was designed around his 15 majors.  Tiger said that the logo would change when he adds his next major.

Found this in the New York Times article:

 

Sun Day Red will first make its products available for sale online on May 1, with aims to eventually expand internationally. Polos will cost $115 to $175, and cashmere sweaters will be $250 to $350.

 

Similar price range as Greyson.

The new logo and word mark looks incredibly cheap to me...the gloves especially and every logo with the tiger and S D R placement. 

 

Overall, I don't think there is any middle ground on this...you'll either love it or hate it.

One would guess TM / TW somehow cut a deal with nike to take over some existing product lines and factories (the old tw stuff + others) for pennies on a dollar and in exchange TM / TW agreed not to use the old tw logo and frank on any product. Doing this would significantly reduce the operating costs and satisfy the rush to beat a certain date (everything felt so rushy, no?) - they basically just put a new logo on all tw products as they really don't look like new designs / new materials (sus, one would even think nike had halted production of the tw line a long time ago while both parties were hashing out and finalizing this "deal")

 

In a few quarters time we'll know if this was a good business move. If the wild guess was anything close to reality, it would probably be the only way to make this brand work. Design, material, and price all have to fall into the right spots.

Yeah the "power of 3's" concept was likely the big factor here from a design standpoint. He has the "TGR" foundation and now his "SDR" apparel line, plus the number 3 has specific significance in Buddhism which he's made mention of in the past.

Nah, fam. This was all in-house, no focus group--youth or otherwise--tested. If they'd tested it they'd have known social media was going to have a field day as it already is and we're not even 24 hours into the full reveal. He should have stuck with the clean TW or come up with something that resonates. At $115 a pop for the polos, too... Still a Tiger fan, but to quote a great laureate:

Huge Tiger fan here...

 

I feel like there is some potential here but some of the designs need some refining.  Not a big fan of the center chest logo on the collared shirts especially the patch that looks glued on and off centered.  The logo on the sleeve, on the collar itself, or anywhere else would probably work better.  The logo itself looks a bit better than I expected from the mock up.  The hats, gloves, and pullovers look decent but just not really feeling the polos.  They kind of look like something anyone could throw together at a print/embroidery store.  SDR lettering is fine but not feeling the logo with SDR around it and making Sunday 2 words ain't it on first impression.  I get that it's probably a legal thing but I think they should have gone another route on the name if there were going to have to break up the work sunday.  Maybe the 3 word name will grow on me and they'll clean up the polos.  

 

I will say... the black hoodie with oversized logo on the front chest is a must cop.

I think the logo just isn't symmetrical and hard to center.

So what's the actually allure here? With Nike people were buying the clothing that Tiger actually wore while winning multiple majors and tons of other tournaments. Current Tiger isn't even competitive in tournament play. What's even the marketing strategy here?
