Bones and JT seemed like a poor match to start with even though they are both excellent at what they do.  Not surprised they didn't gel even though I don't know either of them personally.

Agree. Just didnt seem to work. Given JT's recent form I thought something like this was coming

With his bad knees, ole Bones is a tough dude! Time he started enjoying life more! Met him in the motel lobby at St Jude Classic one evening,seemed like a great guy! The best to him!

IMO 2 guys at the top of their fields.  They'll both end up fine.  Crazy that they had only 1 win together albeit it was a major.

I had the same thoughts recently when watching some of JT’s struggles. 
 

It’ll be interesting who he has on the bag in a week!

Interesting one but I have said before that I think JT could use someone who encourages him to just hit a 175 yard shot and not someone who is used to saying, let’s hit a punchy, 3 yard cut with no spin to keep it under the wind. JT has a lot of shots but feels like he has been trying to play too many for a while.

If you have watched PGA Tour live recently, you could tell they did not gel. JT was always second guessing Bones club selection and analysis. With his struggles of late, not surprised to see this.

Bring in Stevie! JT is Tigers buddy, Tiger's ex caddy. JT and Stevie both kind of have a short fuse. That would be must see TV

I think the JT, Bones team was a little bit of a double edge sword. JT brings in Bones due to his success with Phil, but if he is constantly second guessing how the boss is playing shots, now who is in charge? Sometimes alot of these Tour guys I think would be better with having the old caddy idea of "put up, keep up, shut up". JT is the one getting paid the big bucks, sometimes you gotta be the one that lives and dies out there, not let your caddy dictate too much.

Well they got one major which is pretty good.  That being said I think JT's best days are behind him.

The timing is the most interesting part. 
 

- I think I heard on Sirius last week that Bones was doing tv last weekend and maybe even this weekend. (Just read that it may not have been this past week but was in Mexico a few weeks back)
 

- With the Masters looming this feels like a non natural timing, so either JT found someone he wanted on the bag more or a disagreement escalated to a firing/quitting. 
 

Might be telling when we see who is the replacement for Bones or if Bones quickly is on a new bag.

Until JT learns how to putt, especially since he's a diminished ball striker, there's going to be frustration for any caddy on his bag.

Doesn’t surprise me that much. I’ve always thought JT paid Bones too much deference and I think the result was a lack of commitment to what he was doing. He might actually be a guy who needs less input.

As far as JT goes, I think he's got a overthinking problem.  With Bones, it seems to be a strung out conversation over every shot and I don't think JT has the patience for all that.  

 

As I can recall, he used to converse with his caddie for a second (wind & direction) and just let er rip.

It would be interesting to see some of these guys go back to playing golf on their own, with no discussion with a caddy about play on the course

Definitely, his swing already relies a lot on timing then with him trying to hit all the different shapes and trajectories front shot to shot it’s entertaining when he times it up but he gets a little off it gets ugly with the two way misses.

Rory should go next.  When is he going to wake up and realize he is at a competitive disadvantage with his buddy on the bag.  I’d love to see him pair up with a world class green reader.  The sands of time are starting to tick a little faster now.

If I was Bones, I would seek out Niemann or one of the other younger stars. Rory only tries when it's convenient, would be a waste of Bones' talent
