I don't see how anyone would be rooting for anything else. The more ridiculous the course gets, the more entertaining it is. At the end of the day professional golf is an entertainment product so anyone who gets worked up over big numbers or unfair playing conditions can shove off.

I feel a lot of greats have one last good run at a tournament, usually you hope its a major. Jack 86, Tiger 2019, Phil 21 PGA. I don't think lightning will strike twice. I also think Phil looks at whats coming up and realizes its not going to happen.

I know he did all that stuff to better appreciate and understand his father, but even the guys who retire from SF in relatively good health are 100% disabled. Done fittings for several Army SF dudes; every one of them a salt of the earth human being and they took their lasting physical ailments in good humor. That kind of training is necessary to survive the fights those guys run towards, but it extracts a massive and permanent physical toll.

0 or 1. I played Torrey Pines South right after a tournament and shot 110 from Whites (6900) with 2 PARs.

I’d argue driving his SUV into a tree at 90 mph has impacted him more than the SF training… But what do I know 🤷🏼‍♂️
