In my order of pref

Bethpage Black

Pebble Beach

Augusta National

Wolf Run (Zionsville, IN)

Coyote Crossing (Lafayette, IN)

Bethpage and Pebble over Augusta?! Would love to hear why.

Bethpage is just something special to me from the challenge of the walk to the fact we drive 12 hours just to get there and of course the fact it's an awesome course with incredible conditions.

Pebble - the best real estate there is :)

Augusta was just primo conditions - so many holes that were boring to me. The entire front side is boring honestly but obviously once you get to 11 it's amazing but I'd still put it third.

Interesting :) Thanks for the response, definitely on my bucket list!

I agree Augusta is very overrated. Great set of greens but very little interest off the tee and most of the par 4s are similar until you get to the green. Personally it's not in my top 10.

I don't have the extensive depth that some of you guys on here have, but my top few are very obvious because I don't play all these great courses. Also I haven't played very many places outside of chicago so forgive me as well

1. Shoreacres CC

2. Olympia Fields North

3. Dubsdread

4. Medinah #3

5. Conway Farms

Living where I do, I have played an embarrassingly low amount of them although, with Royal Troon booked for next year, I am determined to get all The Open venues done and then start venturing from there. My Top 5 at the moment are:

1. The Old Course

2. Castle Stuart

3. Nairn

4. Dukes Course, St Andrews

5. Gleneagles Centenary Course

Biggest disappointment Cruden Bay. How that place ranks in the Top 100 in the World in a few different publications is absolutely beyond me. There are some nice holes on the front 9 but beyond that it is awful. Truly awful.

Agree completely on Augusta. Very boring and repetitive off the tee and not interesting until you get to the greens. Every par 4 is a tight straight tee shot through a chute of trees except for 5. It has great topography and great greens but doesn't make my personal Top 10.

Top I have played

US list:

Pebble Beach

Spyglass Hill

Spanish Bay

Torrey Pines (South)

Bay Hill

Doral

Internationally (Canada & Scotland):

St. Andrew's Old Course

St. Andrew's New Course

Capilano G&CC (Vancouver, Canada)

Nicklaus North (Whistler, BC)

Most overrated of above:

Doral.

Notable mention for top course list:

Moray Golf Club (near Elgin, Scotland) - very tough track and totally unforgiving to stray shots but what a course! #1 and #18 are borderline silly tricked up but overall the course is great

San Juan Oaks (Hollister, CA) - best course outside the 17 Mile Drive for Northern Cali.

Agree on San Juan Oaks - excellent Fred Couples course, especially the back nine.
