Not sure how much you want, but the X3 deliver plenty. Especially when you get to customize the sound with the app. They have quite a bit when asked and actually it doesn’t bleed hardly at all for an earbud.

Has anyone found an app that will speak distances to the pin through your headphones/buds? I just got a set of airpods and used them on the range. Would love to keep one in during the round to get distances without having to pull my phone out.

I haven’t heard of anything like this but there are apps on the Apple Watch where I download the course first then when I stand at the ball the distance is displayed on my watch.

Just an FYI if anyone is interested the app "FreeCaddie" has Audio features. It will speak the distance on your phone or into your bluetooth earbuds if you have them connected.

 

I just tried it out and it works great. You can leave the phone in your pocket and it will speak the distances when you get to your ball (stop moving).

Anybody have any more recent input to this discussion? I’m starting to look around for a replacement set of headphones that will mostly be used for golf. I’m leaning towards an in-ear bud, no wires.

JBL Endurance Jump, they're bluetooth, have a little water resistance (mainly for sweat), and the lock in pretty good, never had them fall off in a swing or while at the gym.

I'm an air pod pro person now and would highly recommend them. Can put noise cancelling on at the range then go to ambient mode while playing to hear whats going on around me.

Ditto though have to admit, the original airpods are more comfortable for my ears. The reason I prefer the Pros is they are louder and also the noise cancelling.

Took some getting used to, once I selected the adapter that felt a little too big for my ears and then wore them for a bit they are very comfy. Love the sound quality, noise cancelling, ambient mode, battery life, charging speed. All around good product.

Powerbeats Pro. The hook over the ear keeps them in place through any activity (including bucket after bucket at the range.) Great sound and comfortable. Oh, I wear them all day at work 8+ hours and the charge lasts that long.

I had tried a few different types but honestly I have never had anything better than the AirPod 2’s that were bought for me as a birthday present. I wasn’t sure how they would be at staying in my ear when golfing but I have not had one single issue. Highly recommend them!

AfterShokz Aeropex bone conduction headphones. I have moved from ear buds to these for basically all headphone use except in airplanes. Sound is great, plus you can pretty much hear anything else you care to pay attention to while using them. They stay in place running or doing a hard physical workout, and are pretty much sweat/waterproof.

This is key, I almost got drilled last year with headphones in, they didn’t yell fore, but even if they would have, I most likely wouldn’t have heard it. The ones I did wear stayed in well.

I absolutely love my JLab Epic Air Elite headphones. I think they upgraded them recently with the name Epic Air Sport?

 

Either way, they aren't super expensive, they have great battery life, super comfy and come with my favorite "foam" ear tips, great sound, and don't move or fall out during physical activity. Out of all the headphones I've bought in my life, these are my favorite by far.

I can not recommend these things enough.

they're bluetoothThey can be in ear or hang out (and you can still hear well with them)They're cheap and they last, my first pair lasted like two years and I ran with them almost everyday and played golf with them. The six hour battery life lasted the entire time as well.

I swore that I would never pay the ludicrous price that Apple was charging for the AirPods. Then someone gave me a pair. Now, if I lost them, I would be at the store the next day to buy a replacement set. I tried several other, highly rated (Amazon and online reviews) and significantly less expensive earphones. They all frequently lost connection, didn’t instantly sync, didn’t allow track skipping, etc. The AirPods work flawlessly. Every time.

The only thing I’ve added is some cheap silicone covers for comfort and to make sure they stay in during marathon practice sessions. For me airpods are perfect. I haven't tried the pros but the standard apple airpods never fall out of my ears no matter what I'm doing and I would highly recommend them. I have heard of people having problems with them falling out, but from my experience from family and friends they are great.

+1. And just wear one. Enjoy the music and still be able to hear....I do this all the time, phone calls, golf, golf with phone calls....with the right size ear piece I've never dropped them...almost lost them in the golf cart by forgetting they were in there after I took em off once...almost tragic.
