Well the time has come. I've played a V-Steel 3 wood for 14 years (for the last 11 with a Pro Launch Blue). Today I found my way into a used SIM Max 3 wood with a Tensei White for a price I couldn't pass up. Taylormade lured me in with the "V-Steel" stamped on the sole. It felt really good, but looking forward to getting it out and playing it. Not sure the shaft is the right fit but again the price was too good to pass up.

It's somewhat laughable how much bigger the SIM is but honestly doesn't feel that big when you hit it. Also the V sole on the original is much more pronounced and will be curious to see how that does on actual turf and not a mat indoors

I've been interested in the SIM 3-wood because of the V-Steel stamping as well. Interested to see how it performs

After liking my V-Steel 5-Wood, I went ahead and sold my M5 Rocket and picked up a V-Steel T/S. It will be interesting to see how this one works out . . .

How long until I buy the 7-Wood????

Did they make a 9-Wood????

Just picked up a V-Steel 3 wood off ebay for $30. I have one hole on my home course which I have a gap in the bag. I am hoping this is a low cost experiment for the few times I will hit a 3 wood.

Following up from my post about purchasing a V-Steel T/S (the 13 degree one) with a YS-6S, and I honestly haven't had a 3 wood I've hit this well since I've retired my 913F (old trusty that I still have at my Dad's house) from high school. I won't say it goes as far as the M5 rocket, but I actually have no fear pulling the 3 wood out of the bag for the first time in years, after struggling to hit the M2, M4 Tour, M3 HL, and M5 Rocket consistently -- despite all of those aforementioned options being extremely long and good clubs in the right hands in their own right.

I actually have two V-steel 5 woods in my basement. I loved the V-Steels so much I saw one on the Bay for a great price. Snatched it up and when it arrived I went to add it to my collection, only to discover I already had a V-Steel 5 wood, lmao. My 5 wood these days is the G410 but I occasionally take the Taylormade out to beat some balls.

I have a 5w wood with that shaft but don't like it as much as the TT DG S300 shaft I play in my other V-Steels.

Had one shafted in my 7w. I switched it to the more traditional weight of the TTDG. If you're asking more about having a steel shaft in it, go for it!

I expect this has been discussed already, but what is the Brothers' take on the "new" V-steels, the SIM2 Ti, SIM2 and SIM2 D?

Just got my V-steel 7w back with a new shaft. I had a Quadra Fire RB 6SX shaft in it before (see pic), which was good, but a little bit light or soft. If I went after it, I'd hit big high hooks, so I wanted something heavier and a mite stiffer to improve control, even it meant a loss of distance.

Found a secondhand Tensei Orange Pro 70TX in my local golf shop and got that installed. So far, so good. Liked it when I tried it in their hitting bay. Can't wait to take it to the course, but first to the range!

Funny to think that both shafts are worth about 4~5 times more than the head.

The old shaft:

Similar story for me. As well documented in this thread I found the stock V-Steel shafts garbage. I wanted to try a heaver/stiffer shaft but I didn't want to spend much money. I tried steel. TT DG S300 to be exact. Loved it. Love the weight and fell and at $18 a pop makes them the best bang for the buck as well. Another benefit is when I play with someone new and I see them smirk at the shaft I get a great sense of gratitude when I hit them great.

My 7w came with a steel shaft, but it was an NSPRO 095 stiff, which is not a shaft I get on with at all, so I swapped it for the Quadra Fire RB shaft.

I don't even consider putting steel shafts in my woods or hybrids (actually, my irons have carbon shafts now as well), but when I hit my steel-shafted persimmon woods, something just feels right with the heft and timing.
